Euro 2012 Draw: Predictions and Results for Every Game in Poland and Ukraine
What a draw!
Three words for Group B: group of death.
Comment below with the two nations you think will progress from each group.
Here are predictions and results for every game in Euro 2012.
It's a bit bold because the tournament is 189 days away, but let's have fun some fun and imitate Nostradamus in predicting the results for every group stage game of Euro 2012.
| Group A | Group B | Group C | Group D |
| Poland | Netherlands | Spain | Ukraine |
| Greece | Denmark | Italy | Sweden |
| Russia | Germany | Republic of Ireland | France |
| Czech Republic | Portugal | Croatia | England |
Group A: Poland 0-0 Greece
1 of 29The inaugural game of Euro 2012 will be between Poland and Greece at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
The 0-0 draw earlier this year in March is a dress rehearsal for what will happen on June 8th 2012.
Group A: Russia 1-0 Czech Republic
2 of 29The Russians conceded an average of 0.40 goals per game, the third best defence during the qualifiers and the Czech Republic does not have any offensive threats of note.
Their top scorer, Michal Kadlec, is a left back.
Group A: Greece 0-0 Czech Republic
3 of 29Of the last three games played between the two sides, only one goal has been scored.
Go figure.
Rewind back to Euro 2004 and that was when Traianos Dellas scored the last ever silver goal.
Group A: Poland 2-3 Russia
4 of 29For me, the Russians will be too strong in this easy group.
The last three games between the two sides have produced six goals so it's generally a goal-fest instead of a bore-fest.
Group A: Czech Republic 1-2 Poland
5 of 29The decisive game in this group for the Poles.
Surely the Poles will be up for this tournament knowing it's the perfect draw for them.
The Russians aren't world beaters, the Greeks are one dimensional and the Czech Republic has been lackluster in the qualifiers.
Greece 0-1 Russia
6 of 29I can't see the Greeks pulling off what they did in 2004 because the Russians will be well prepared, they will be well versed in defending set pieces and they are a better team.
Watch out for Aleksandr Anyukov bursting down the right flank to provide an incisive cross.
Group A: Final Standings
7 of 29| Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
| Russia | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 | +5 | 9 |
| Poland | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 3 | -1 | 4 |
| Greece | 3 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | -1 | 2 |
| Czech Republic | 3 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 3 | -2 | 1 |
Group B: Netherlands 2-1 Denmark
8 of 29The Dutch will be familiar with Danish starlet Christian Eriksen considering he plays for Ajax.
The same applies for former PSV Eindhoven and Ajax speedster Dennis Rommedahl.
Bert van Marwijk's side should pull through in this tricky encounter.
Group B: Germany 3-1 Portugal
9 of 29Can Cristiano Ronaldo carry this inconsistent Portuguese side?
Not against the Germans.
Youthful, attacking, creative and solid are the words to describe this lovely German national team under Joachim Löw.
Group B: Denmark 3-3 Portugal
10 of 29This game could potentially be the match of the tournament.
Two naturally attacking sides who at times disregard defence.
The Portuguese have managed to score eight times against the Danes in the last five games.
Group B: Netherlands 0-2 Germany
11 of 29Considering how dire Per Mertesacker has been, Joachim Löw's first choice partnership will probably be Holger Badstuber and Mats Hummels.
If so, it's a potentially winning combination.
Watch out for Philipp Wollscheid, who could make a surprise entry, into Löw's squad.
Group B: Portugal 1-2 Netherlands
12 of 29Assuming Cristiano Ronaldo is marked out of the game by Mark van Bommel, I see the Dutch winning this game.
Group B: Denmark 0-3 Germany
13 of 29The Germans will have too much firepower for the Danes.
Group B: Final Standings
14 of 29| Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
| Germany | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 8 | 1 | +7 | 9 |
| Netherlands | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 4 | 0 | 6 |
| Portugal | 3 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 0 | 1 |
| Denmark | 3 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 7 | -3 | 1 |
Group C: Spain 1-0 Italy
15 of 29It really depends on how Cesare Prandelli approaches the game.
Does he approach head on and attack or does he follow Ottmar Hitzfeld's blueprint in stifling the Spanish and hoping to score on the counter?
I presume the latter.
However, I believe the Spanish will score first and then resort to passing the ball around without taking too much risk.
Group C: Republic of Ireland 0-0 Croatia
16 of 29I believe the Irish will go down the same path that Jack Charlton's Irish took during the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Cautious and defensive football.
Group C: Italy 2-0 Croatia
17 of 29This would be a must win game for Cesare Prandelli and I cannot see the Croatians breach the best defence during the qualifiers.
Group C: Spain 1-0 Republic of Ireland
18 of 29The Irish will not only park the plane in front of the goal, but they'll park the bus in front of the plane.
However, I see the Spanish scoring.
Group C: Croatia 1-2 Spain
19 of 29The Croatians had a better defensive record during the qualifiers than the Spanish, but can they stop Vicente del Bosque's side when it matters most?
I think not.
Italy 1-1 Republic of Ireland
20 of 29Talk about new school in Cesare Prandelli and old school in Giovanni Trapattoni.
The Italians are a better side and should win, but I see the Irish holding them to a draw.
Group C: Final Standings
21 of 29| Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
| Spain | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 1 | +3 | 9 |
| Italy | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 2 | +1 | 4 |
| Republic of Ireland | 3 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | -1 | 2 |
| Croatia | 3 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 4 | -3 | 1 |
Group D: France 2-0 England
22 of 29Well we know Wayne Rooney will at least miss one game (he should miss four, three for his original red card, and one for the FA submitting a frivolous appeal) so I can't see the English threatening the French.
Unless Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain start.
But would Fabio Capello be open to such an idea? I don't think so.
Group D: Ukraine 1-2 Sweden
23 of 29I'm looking forward to Andriy Yarmolenko playing, but the Swedish triumvirate of Zlatan Ibrahimović, Kim Källström and Sebastian Larsson may be too much.
Group D: Sweden 2-1 England
24 of 29Will Zlatan Ibrahimović finally step up?
If so, how can England beat Sweden?
Who are England's offensive threats?
Group D: Ukraine 1-2 France
25 of 29The French have never lost against the Ukraine and they won't start losing anytime soon.
Group D: England 1-2 Ukraine
26 of 29It's time to bid Arrivederci to Fabio Capello because I believe England's Euro campaign will crash and burn like Euro 2000 and Euro 1992.
Group D: Sweden 0-0 France
27 of 29It's a surprise to me that Laurent Blanc is still managing the French national team, but his players are playing very well while the English aren't.
I see Sweden are a legitimate dark horse and perhaps they can go through.
Group D: Final Standings
28 of 29| Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
| France | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 1 | +3 | 7 |
| Sweden | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 2 | +2 | 7 |
| Ukraine | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 4 | 5 | -1 | 3 |
| England | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 1 | 5 | -4 | 0 |

If I've made a calculation error, please point it out. I am getting sleepy at 4:14 a.m.
I really wished they didn't drag out the process of drawing a bunch of balls for so long.
