Week 13 Waiver Wire: Top 3 RBs To Boost Your Fantasy Squad
Waiver-wire pickups are beginning to become scarce with just a couple weeks left before fantasy football playoffs in most leagues.
But if you look hard enough there are still a few pickups that help your team and could potentially be the difference between making the postseason and going home crying (if you don't think fantasy owners weep over defeat, you don't know fantasy football).
In this edition, I'll give you three running backs to boost your fantasy squad in Week 13 of the NFL season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
3. Kevin Smith/Maurice Morris, Detroit Lions
This is more of a two-headed running back.
Lions starting running back Jahvid Best is done for the season after sustaining a concussion. That means the rest of the Lions' running backs get more opportunities.
In Week 11, Kevin Smith, in his first action since November 2010, erupted for over 200 totals yards and three total touchdowns.
But Smith is listed as "questionable" after sustaining a foot injury. If he is unable to play, look for Maurice Morris to pick up the slack.
Morris racked up 120 total yards in Week 12 when Smith went down with his injury. He's a serviceable running back who has averaged 4.2 yards per carry for his career and can catch passes, to boot.
Both are nice options depending on who's starting.
2. Donald Brown, Indianapolis Colts
I'm not the biggest fan of Donald Brown, but he is beginning to surpass starter Joseph Addai.
In Week 12, Brown received 14 carries to Addai's seven. Brown responded by running for 80 yards against the Carolina Panthers.
Brown doesn't have a great matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 13, but if you really need help he could put up some decent numbers.
1. Roy Helu, Washington Redskins
Roy Helu is far and away the best running back pickup off the waiver wire for Week 13.
I said it before Week 12 that Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan should be giving the rookie out of Nebraska more carries, and he kindly obliged.
Helu received 23 carries and responded by exploding for 108 yards and a touchdown. On top of that, he caught seven balls for 54 yards, making him an even better pickup in PPR leagues.
This is no one-week wonder, either. Helu has averaged 4.8 yards per carry this season and had a big game against a tough defense in the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9.
Helu doesn't have the best matchup against the New York Jets in Week 13, but from there he could be fantasy gold, matching up against forgiving rush defenses in the New England Patriots, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.
