NBA Draft 2012: Top 50 College Basketball Prospects Report Card Grades in Week 4
Week 4 in college basketball brought quite a bit of excitement along with it.
The week was highlighted by a Saturday afternoon classic between two of the most storied programs in college basketball history. Kentucky and North Carolina battled for two hours until Anthony Davis blocked John Henson's jump shot with four seconds left to preserve a one-point win.
It was just one of the many great games of the week, but it featured no less than 10 players on the fourth edition of my Big Board.
Read on to see who the top 50 NBA draft prospects are and how they performed in the fourth week of the college season.

12/3 against Northern Arizona (53-39 win): 24 minutes, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist
At least Josiah Turner didn't turn the ball over against Northern Arizona. I'm just not seeing anything special from this freshman yet.
Grade: B-
49. Alex Young (Previous Ranking: No. 46)
3 of 51School: IUPUI
Year: Senior
Position: Shooting guard and small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists

12/3 against North Dakota State (84-79 loss): 28 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
Even though Alex Young scored a lot this week, he couldn't lead his team to a single win and he only scored a lot because he shot a lot. Young's shooting percentages this past week, from earliest to most recent, were 26.7, 39.1 and 35.3 percent.
Grade: C+
48. Michael Glover (Previous Ranking: Unranked)
4 of 51School: Iona
Year: Senior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 19.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 0.4 assists

12/4 against Niagara (98-62 win): 29 minutes, 27 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
The Iona big man makes his debut on the Big Board at No. 48 after a ridiculous double-double against Long Island and then another big performance against Niagara. He benefits greatly from having Scott Machado feed him the ball, but Michael Glover is a physical NBA-level talent for sure. Plus, he's shooting well over 60 percent thus far from the field.
Grade: A
47. Orlando Johnson (Previous Ranking: No. 50)
5 of 51School: UC Santa Barbara
Year: Senior
Position: Shooting Guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 23.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists
11/30 against UNLV (94-88 loss): 47 minutes, 36 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers
Orlando Johnson must have wanted to justify his inclusion on my big board last week because he put up one hell of a performance against UNLV in a double-overtime thriller.
Grade: A+
46. Cody Zeller (Previous Ranking: No. 47)
6 of 51School: Indiana

12/3 against Illinois (82-75 loss): 29 minutes, 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
Robert Sacre continues to put up impressive numbers despite playing less than 30 minutes per game. He's been a model of consistency and efficiency this season.
Grade: A-
44. Seth Curry (Previous Ranking: No. 41)
8 of 51School: Duke
Year: Junior
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists
11/29 against Ohio State (85-63 loss): 26 minutes, 7 points, 1 rebound, 3 turnovers
Seth Curry, much like the entire Duke Blue Devils squad, struggled against the superior Ohio State Buckeyes in a game that wasn't even as close as the lopsided score indicates. He turned the ball over three times, didn't record a single assist, played poor defense, and hit on only one of his six three-point attempts.
Grade: C-
43. Ray McCallum (Previous Ranking: No. 40)
9 of 51School: Detroit
Year: Sophomore
Position: Point guard

12/1 against Youngstown State (64-61 loss): 37 minutes, 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
12/3 against Cleveland State (66-61 loss): 34 minutes, 14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 turnovers
You'd think that Ray McCallum would at least be able to lead the Detroit Titans to a victory once in a while, but alas, that is not the case.
Grade: B
42. Royce White (Previous Ranking: No. 48)
10 of 51School: Iowa State
Year: Sophomore
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 15.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists

12/3 against Michigan (76-66 loss): 32 minutes, 22 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers
Make sure you check in to an Iowa State broadcast at some point this year just to watch Royce White play. He proved against Michigan that his stats aren't just a mirage resulting from games against lesser competition.
Grade: A+
41. John Jenkins (Previous Ranking: No. 43)
11 of 51School: Vanderbilt
Year: Junior
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 21.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists
11/28 against Xavier (82-70 loss): 41 minutes, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers
12/2 against Louisville (62-60 loss): 41 minutes, 27 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
All I have to say is that John Jenkins can shoot a basketball.
Grade: A-
40. Darius Johnson-Odom (Previous Ranking: No. 42)
12 of 51School: Marquette

12/3 against Wisconsin (61-54 win): 33 minutes, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
Darius Johnson-Odom and the rest of his Marquette teammates just continue to impress. After scoring 20 or more points in every game last week, Johnson-Odom slowed his pace a little bit but still managed to spark an upset win over Wisconsin.
Grade: A
39. Jeffery Taylor (Previous Ranking: No. 39)
13 of 51School: Vanderbilt
Year: Senior
Position: Shooting guard and small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists
11/28 against Xavier (82-70 loss): 41 minutes, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers
12/2 against Louisville (62-60 loss): 41 minutes, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, 5 turnovers
Jeffery Taylor's athleticism and stat-stuffing abilities was on full display in two losses against quality teams this past week. He just needs to cut down on the turnovers.
Grade: B+
38. William Buford (Previous Ranking: No. 38)
14 of 51School: Ohio State
Year: Senior
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists
11/29 against Duke (85-63 win): 39 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 turnover
12/3 against Texas-Pan American (64-35 win): 26 minutes, 2 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal
William Buford struggled to find his shot against Texas-Pan American, but I'm far more concerned with his tremendous performance against the Duke Blue Devils.
Grade: B+
37. Festus Ezeli (Previous Ranking: No. 36)
15 of 51School: Vanderbilt
Year: Senior
Position: Center
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 0.0 points, 0.0 rebounds, 0.0 assists
11/28 against Xavier (82-70 loss): Did not play
12/2 against Louisville (62-60 loss): Did not play
36. Shabazz Napier (Previous Ranking: No. 34)
16 of 51School: Connecticut
Year: Sophomore
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists
12/3 against Arkansas (75-62 win): 37 minutes, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers
Shabazz Napier didn't shoot often against Arkansas, but he didn't really need to. The versatile point guard still managed to contribute in quite a few other ways.
Grade: A-
35. Tu Holloway (Previous Ranking: No. 35)
17 of 51School: Xavier
Year: Junior
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 18.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists
11/28 against Vanderbilt (82-70 win): 42 minutes, 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover
12/3 against Purdue (66-63 win): 37 minutes, 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 6 turnovers
After one great performance against Vanderbilt, Tu Holloway led a remarkable 19-point comeback against the tough Purdue Boilermakers. Once more, he was just Tu good for the opposition this week.
Grade: A
34. JaMychal Green (Previous Ranking: No. 33)
18 of 51School: Alabama
Year: Senior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 15.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists
12/1 against Georgetown (57-55 loss): 32 minutes, 13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a tough last-second loss to the Georgetown Hoyas to put an end to their unblemished season. Perhaps the game wouldn't have been so close if Green had managed to avoid foul trouble that limited his playing time and effectiveness.
Grade: B
33. Arnett Moultrie (Previous Ranking: No. 37)
19 of 51School: Mississippi State
Year: Senior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists
12/3 against West Virginia (75-62 win): 34 minutes, 21 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 3 turnovers
Arnett Moultrie put up an absolutely dominant double-double in his one game of the week, hitting on seven of his eight shots from the field.
Grade: A+
32. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Previous Ranking: No. 32)
20 of 51School: Georgia
Year: Freshman
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists
11/28 against Colorado (70-68 loss): 34 minutes, 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover
12/2 against Cincinnati (57-51 loss): 29 minutes, 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals, 1 turnover
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has proven time and time again that he can score at a high level. Now he just needs to do so without shooting a bajillion times a game.
Grade: B
31. Le'Bryan Nash (Previous Ranking: No. 29)
21 of 51School: Oklahoma State
Year: Freshman
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists
11/30 against Tulsa (59-56 win): 30 minutes, 21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 5 turnovers
12/4 against Langston (80-58 win): 16 minutes, 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 7 turnovers
12 turnovers in two games is not exactly acceptable. Le'Bryan Nash needs to dramatically improve his ball security.
Grade: C
30. C.J. Leslie (Previous Ranking: No. 31)
22 of 51School: N.C. State
Year: Sophomore
Position: Small forward and power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists
12/4 against Stanford (76-72 loss): 24 minutes, 14 points, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 turnovers
By hitting six of his eight shots from the field, C.J. Leslie proved that he is definitely an elite offensive player. I'd still like to see him involve his teammates more and help the team, and not just himself, have more success.
Grade: B+
29. Mouphtaou Yarou (Previous Ranking: No. 30)
23 of 51School: Villanova
Year: Junior
Position: Power forward and center
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists
12/3 against Pennsylvania (73-65 win): 33 minutes, 21 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Mouphtaou Yarou threw up another double-double this week, this time in a hard-fought win against Pennsylvania. The big man wasn't afraid to bang around down low and made 12 trips to the foul stripe.
Grade: A-
28. Trevor Mbakwe (Previous Ranking: No. 26)
24 of 51School: Minnesota
Year: Senior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists
11/30 against Virginia Tech (58-55 win): Did not play
12/3 against USC (55-40 win): Did not play
27. Mason Plumlee (Previous Ranking: No. 28)
25 of 51School: Duke
Year: Junior
Position: Power forward and center
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 12.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists
11/29 against Ohio State (85-63 loss): 35 minutes, 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers
Mason Plumlee was one of the few bright spots for the Duke Blue Devils in a blowout loss at the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He did turn the ball over four times, but he played better defense than normal and shot efficiently on the offensive end of the court.
Grade: B
26. Maalik Wayns (Previous Ranking: No. 27)
26 of 51School: Villanova
Year: Junior
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 18.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists
12/3 against Pennsylvania (73-65 win): 28 minutes, 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 turnovers
Maalik Wayns turned the ball over too many times, but he contributed across the board. Wayns is usually more involved offensively so chalk this one up as an aberration.
Grade: B
25. Tony Wroten (Previous Ranking: No. 25)
27 of 51School: Washington
Year: Freshman
Position: Point guard and shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists
12/2 against Nevada (76-73 loss): 27 minutes, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 5 turnovers
Tony Wroten only played one game this past week and it was filled with both good and bad. Wroten played good defense and shot well against Nevada, but he couldn't help his team to a victory and turned the ball over five times.
Grade: B
24. Kris Joseph (Previous Ranking: No. 24)
28 of 51School: Syracuse
Year: Senior
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists
11/29 against Eastern Michigan (84-48 win): 27 minutes, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 turnover
12/2 against Florida (72-68 win): 36 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 turnovers
This was the first week in which I was left wanting something more from Kris Joseph, even though he helped the Syracuse Orange to a big win over the Florida Gators. Joseph did not shoot well in either win and didn't demonstrate as much leadership as I'm used to seeing from him on the court.
Grade: B
23. Patric Young (Previous Ranking: No. 22)
29 of 51School: Florida
Year: Sophomore
Position: Center and power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 9.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists
11/28 against Stetson (96-70 win): 20 minutes, 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks
12/2 against Syracuse (72-68 loss): 25 minutes, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers
Patric Young's NBA-ready body outshone his not-so-NBA-ready skill set this week. It really wasn't even close.
Grade: B
22. Adonis Thomas (Previous Ranking: No. 23)
30 of 51School: Memphis
Year: Freshman
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 assists
11/28 against Jackson State (70-45 win): 25 minutes, 9 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover
12/3 against Austin Peay (91-60 win): 22 minutes, 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
Adonis Thomas managed to score 17 points in just 22 minutes on the court...but he did so in a blowout win against Austin Peay. Until he plays well against quality opponents I'm reserving judgment.
Grade: B+
21. Khris Middleton (Previous Ranking: No. 21)
31 of 51School: Texas A&M
Year: Junior
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists
11/30 against Alcorn State (56-44 win): Did not play
12/3 against SF Austin (55-42 win): Did not play
20. Doron Lamb (Previous Ranking: No. 19)
32 of 51School: Kentucky
Year: Sophomore
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists
12/1 against St. John's (81-59 win): 35 minutes, 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 turnover
12/3 against North Carolina (73-72 win): 34 minutes, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Doron Lamb continues to be the model of consistency on both ends of the court for the Kentucky Wildcats. He may not be flashy but he's still playing remarkably well for the No. 1 team in the country.
Grade: B
19. Thomas Robinson (Previous Ranking: No. 20)
33 of 51School: Kansas
Year: Junior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists
11/30 against Florida Atlantic (77-54 win): 35 minutes, 19 points, 17 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4 blocks, 3 turnovers
12/3 against South Florida (70-42 win): 30 minutes, 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals, 2 blocks
I do not believe this week happened. Thomas Robinson isn't allowed to have less than a double-double!
Grade: A
18. Tyler Zeller (Previous Ranking: No. 17)
34 of 51School: North Carolina
Year: Senior
Position: Power forward and center
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists
11/30 against Wisconsin (60-57 win): 35 minutes, 12 points, 7 rebounds
12/3 against Kentucky (73-72 loss): 28 minutes, 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers
Tyler Zeller looked impressive in both wins against high-quality opposition this past week. I felt as though the Kentucky Wildcats really based their defensive game plan at least partially around slowing Zeller in the post, but he still managed to make an impact.
Grade: A-
17. Terrence Ross (Previous Ranking: No. 16)
35 of 51School: Washington
Year: Sophomore
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 16.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists
12/2 against Nevada (76-73 loss): 35 minutes, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
Despite the loss against Nevada, Terrence Ross played a nice, well-rounded game for the Washington Huskies.
Game: B+
16. Myck Kabongo (Previous Ranking: No. 18)
36 of 51School: Texas
Year: Freshman
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists
11/29 against North Texas (73-57 win): 30 minutes, 16 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
12/3 against UCLA (69-59 win): 32 minutes, 13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
This is the Myck Kabongo that Longhorns fans have been expecting to see. The freshman phenom dished out 15 dimes in two games, both of which ended in victory for Texas. Most impressively though, Kabongo finally picked his shots wisely and scored for himself as well. This could be the breakthrough week for him.
Grade: A+
15. Kendall Marshall (Previous Ranking: No. 15)
37 of 51School: North Carolina
Year: Sophomore
Position: Point guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 10.0 assists
11/30 against Wisconsin (60-57 win): 38 minutes, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 turnovers
12/3 against Kentucky (73-72 loss): 35 minutes, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers
Kendall Marshall did his thing once more this week. He found open teammates, didn't shoot too often himself, and served as a turnstile on defense. Roy Williams has been urging Marshall to shoot more often and he did call his own number a few times against Kentucky.
Grade: B
14. James Michael McAdoo (Previous Ranking: No. 12)
38 of 51School: North Carolina
Year: Freshman
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists
11/30 against Wisconsin (60-57 win): 7 minutes, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 turnover
12/3 against Kentucky (73-72 loss): 15 minutes, 2 points, 4 rebounds
I can see the potential in James Michael McAdoo, but he's having trouble putting it on display with limited minutes. On a stacked UNC team, McAdoo may need to spend at least another year in school to show off what he can do in a larger role.
Grade: C
13. Brad Beal (Previous Ranking: No. 11)
39 of 51School: Florida
Year: Freshman
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 15.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists
11/28 against Stetson (96-70 win): 35 minutes, 22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers
12/2 against Syracuse (72-68 loss): 39 minutes, 7 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 5 turnovers
Brad Beal is still contributing at a high level as a freshman for the Florida Gators, but his performance against Syracuse was not very good at all. Beal shot just two-for-nine from the field without making a single three-pointer. He also turned the ball over way too often.
Grade: B-
12. Austin Rivers (Previous Ranking: No. 10)
40 of 51School: Duke
Year: Freshman
Position: Shooting guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 15.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists
11/29 against Ohio State (85-63 loss): 37 minutes, 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turnovers
Austin Rivers did play well against the Ohio State Buckeyes, but a lot of his production came after the game was all but decided. He did continue his upward trend in productivity though.
Grade: B+
11. Terrence Jones (Previous Ranking: No. 13)
41 of 51School: Kentucky
Year: Sophomore
Position: Small forward and power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists
12/1 against St. John's (81-59 win): 32 minutes, 26 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 blocks, 3 turnovers
12/3 against North Carolina (73-72 win): 35 minutes, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 3 blocks, 1 turnover
Despite a number of missed shots against North Carolina, Terrence Jones impressed me more than any other player in the country this week. His passion for the game and increased arsenal of offensive skills makes him a terror for any team in the country.
Grade: A+
10. John Henson (Previous Ranking: No. 9)
42 of 51School: North Carolina
Year: Junior
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 14.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists
11/30 against Wisconsin (60-57 win): 34 minutes, 8 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 5 blocks, 2 turnovers
12/3 against Kentucky (73-72 loss): 33 minutes, 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers
If only John Henson hadn't shot his final field goal attempt of the week directly into the outstretched hand of Anthony Davis, then he'd have had a truly special week. After a dominant defensive game against Wisconsin, Henson showed off his improving offensive range against Kentucky until the final shot of the game.
Grade: A
9. Quincy Miller (Previous Ranking: No. 8)
43 of 51School: Baylor
Year: Freshman
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 13.2 points, 5.2 rebound, 3.0 assists
11/29 against Prairie View A&M (90-54 win): Did not play
12/4 against Northwestern (69-41 win): 24 minutes, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, 2 turnovers
And Quincy Miller falls back to earth.
Grade: B-
8. Marquis Teague (Previous Ranking: No. 7)
44 of 51School: Kentucky
Year: Freshman
Position: Point Guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 10.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists
12/1 against St. John's (81-59 win): 31 minutes, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers
12/3 against North Carolina (73-72 win): 30 minutes, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 turnover
I do like the way that Marquis Teague is developing so far. He's still displaying his incredible talent and he's cut back significantly on the amount of times he just hands the ball over to his opponent. Now he just needs to choose his shots more wisely and play even more under control.
Grade: B-
7. Perry Jones (Previous Ranking: No. 14)
45 of 51School: Baylor
Year: Sophomore
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists
11/29 against Prairie View A&M (90-54 win): 31 minutes, 27 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal
12/4 against Northwestern (69-41 win): 29 minutes, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Dear everyone: Perry Jones is back. Take note.
Dear Perry: I'm sorry I forgot just how good you are.
Grade: A+
6. Jeremy Lamb (Previous Ranking: No. 6)
46 of 51School: Connecticut
Year: Sophomore
Position: Shooting Guard
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 20.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists
12/3 against Arkansas (75-62 win): 26 minutes, 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers
After one bad performance two weeks ago, Jeremy Lamb has bounced back with two consecutive efficient nights. This week, the cocksure guard shot six-for-nine against Arkansas and pulled down six rebounds out of the backcourt.
Grade: A
5. Andre Drummond (Previous Ranking: No. 4)
47 of 51School: Connecticut
Year: Freshman
Position: Power forward and center
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 7.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists
12/3 against Arkansas (75-62 win): 17 minutes, 1 point, 1 rebound, 4 blocks
I'll put this one bluntly: Andre Drummond was good on defense but not on offense against Arkansas.
Grade: B
4. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (Previous Ranking: No. 5)
48 of 51School: Kentucky
Year: Freshman
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 12.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists
12/1 against St. John's (81-59 win): 22 minutes, 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
12/3 against North Carolina (73-72 win): 33 minutes, 17 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover
There aren't many more fun to watch players in the NCAA than Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. The freshman continues to remind me of a raw poor man's Scottie Pippen (see how I'm hesitating to actually make that comparison without qualifiers). Unfortunately for MKG's grade, he balanced a terrific performance against UNC with a dreadful one against St. John's.
Grade: B+
3. Harrison Barnes (Previous Ranking: No. 3)
49 of 51School: North Carolina
Year: Sophomore
Position: Small forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists
11/30 against Wisconsin (60-57 win): 33 minutes, 20 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
12/3 against Kentucky (73-72 loss): 24 minutes, 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 1 turnover
Harrison Barnes was terrific against Wisconsin and played quite well in the opening minutes of the Kentucky game before getting into foul trouble. As great a shooter as he is, I'd still like to see Barnes record at least one assist per week. Is that really too much to ask?
Grade: B+
2. Jared Sullinger (Previous Ranking: No. 2)
50 of 51School: Ohio State
Year: Sophomore
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists
11/29 against Duke (85-63 win): 37 minutes, 21 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
12/3 against Texas-Pan American (64-35 win): Did not play
Jared Sullinger didn't play in his second game of the week, but he dominated against Duke even though he didn't need to play extraordinarily well to win.
Grade: A
1. Anthony Davis (Previous Ranking: No. 1)
51 of 51School: Kentucky
Year: Freshman
Position: Power forward
2011-2012 Per-Game Stats: 12.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists
12/1 against St. John's (81-59 win): 32 minutes, 15 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals, 8 blocks, 1 turnover
12/3 against North Carolina (73-72 win): 34 minutes, 7 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 1 turnover
Anthony Davis continued to dominate this week. After recording four points, four rebounds and four blocks in the first four minutes of the game against St. John's, Davis slowed down because of the dominance of his Kentucky Wildcats. He still nearly had a triple-double and then followed it up with another good, albeit not great game against North Carolina. He even sealed the win with an incredible block of John Henson.
Grade: A+
