Texas vs. Baylor: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More
When the No. 17 Baylor Bears host the No. 22 Texas Longhorns on Saturday, there will be no Big 12 title or BCS berth on the line, but both teams will certainly want to end their respective seasons on a high note.
The Longhorns haven't exactly lived up to expectations at 7-4, but their rebuild is moving in the right direction following a miserable 2010 campaign. A victory over Baylor would guarantee that they remain ranked in the BCS standings, and it would also position them for a more high-profile bowl.
Baylor has certainly done much more than most observers thought they would at 8-3, and much of that has to do with the play of quarterback Robert Griffin III. Griffin was absolutely magical in an upset of Oklahoma a couple weeks ago, and he has essentially been superb all season long.
Texas is more of a defensive team that likes to run the ball on offense, while the Bears give up as many big plays as they make. Something has to give in what is sure to be an interesting clash of styles between two rivals.

Key Storyline: Can Robert Griffin III Establish Himself as a Heisman Front Runner?
Despite the fact that we are entering the final week of the college football season, it is fair to say that there is no definitive front runner for the Heisman Trophy. The distinction normally goes to a player in the National Championship hunt, so that puts Alabama running back Trent Richardson in a good spot, but it is far from a guarantee.
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Houston quarterback Case Keenum are also possibilities, but so is Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. In terms of dominance, Griffin should probably be the choice, as he has nearly 4,000 yards passing and 34 touchdowns against just five interceptions. He has also compiled 612 yards and seven scores on the ground.
If he has another monster game against Texas, voters will have to take notice.
Who Might Not Play for Texas: OL Sedrick Flowers
Freshman offensive lineman Sedrick Flowers suffered a shoulder injury several weeks ago and has been out since Week 11 against Missouri. As has been the case for the past couple weeks, he is listed as questionable against Baylor, and his status is uncertain.
Flowers isn't currently a starter on the offensive line, and he has played sparingly this season, but his talent is undeniable. Flowers was considered to be one of the top offensive lineman recruits in the country, and he should be a fixture on the Longhorns line for the next few years. With that said, his absence would hurt Texas' depth against Baylor, but it wouldn't cripple its chances.
Who Might Not Play for Baylor: DB Chance Casey
Baylor cornerback Chance Casey has developed into one of the best players at the position in the Big 12, but he seems likely to sit out Saturday's game against Texas due to an ankle injury that has kept him out since Week 10. The junior is currently listed as doubtful.
Casey is a third-year starter in Baylor's secondary and is essentially the leader of the unit. He was selected to the Midseason All-Big 12 Team and routinely draws the assignment of covering the opposition's top receiver. Texas isn't a big passing team, but Baylor could be exposed without Casey.
BCS/Top 25 Implications
As far as playing in a BCS bowl goes, neither Texas nor Baylor is in a position to do so. Both squads are ranked in the BCS standings, however, and a win would be quite beneficial to either side. The game won't have much of an impact nationally, but it is still a big game for both teams.
It would be huge for Texas to close out the season with a win, as the Longhorns would be one step closer to getting back to where they are accustomed to being. It may be even bigger for Baylor, though, as it would prove that the Bears have finally arrived after getting pushed around by Texas and other top schools for so many years.
What They're Saying
The main thing that prompted Texas head coach Mack Brown to enlist Manny Diaz as his new defensive coordinator this season was the fact that Diaz's Mississippi State defense shut down Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson in the Gator Bowl last season.
Diaz has become known for his ability to scheme against dual-threat quarterbacks, a skill that will most certainly be needed against Baylor and the electric Robert Griffin III. Diaz realizes how big of a challenge that will be, according to Randy Riggs of the American-Statesman.
"Those other guys, Diaz said, referring to Robinson and (Cam) Newton, didn't have a four-by-one (hundred) track team lined up at wideout on every play. This is different.
This is a real unique challenge. If it could be done, it would have been done. There've been 11 smart guys (defensive coordinators) that have tried to stop them up to this point, and they've all had the same thoughts we've had.
"
Texas Player to Watch: RB Malcolm Brown
Freshman running back Malcolm Brown has been relied upon heavily this season, and while he has struggled in recent weeks, he has answered the bell more often than not. Brown has over 700 yards and five touchdowns on the season, and he is an integral part of an offense that doesn't do a ton of damage through the air.
Brown had a two-game stretch of 100-yard efforts a few weeks back before missing games against Texas Tech and Missouri due to injury. He hasn't been as effective since returning, but a solid effort will be essential, as it will aid in moving the ball and keeping Robert Griffin III off the field.
Baylor Player to Watch: QB Robert Griffin III
There's no reason to get tricky here, as quarterback Robert Griffin III is the one player who makes the entire Baylor team go. While Griffin can't exactly do it on his own, his play will basically determine Baylor's success against Texas on Saturday.
If Griffin continues the level of play he has kept up all season long, then it is very unlikely that the Longhorns will come out on top. There is a possibility that the Baylor defense will blow it, but Texas doesn't have an overly dynamic offense. As long as Griffin excels in all facets as he so often does, Baylor should put another one in the win column.
Key Matchup: Texas LBs vs. Robert Griffin III
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III has proven to be a great passer this season, but what sets him apart from the rest is his uncanny ability to make the opposition pay with his legs. That got him into a bit of trouble last week, as he suffered a minor concussion, but it is an integral part of his game.
If Texas can contain him and keep him in the pocket, he may still be able to beat them with his arm, but at least it would make him one-dimensional. The onus will fall on Texas' linebackers in that respect, as defensive coordinator Manny Diaz will likely make it a priority to collapse Griffin and keep him confined to the pocket. If Texas can do that, then they might have a shot at the upset.
