Rangers 2012 Winter Classic Jerseys: Rangers Get It Right with Old School Look
We've been subjected to/offended by some truly awful uniform changes throughout the years in the sports world.
But the New York Rangers know how to do it right.
The Rangers' 2012 Winter Classic jerseys were unveiled on Monday, and they look spectacular.

The Rangers have decided to go with the old-school look, which generally ends up being a good idea and it was this time.
I've always liked the simple uniforms that don't try to do too much, but stylistically look like something any sports fan would want to wear every day of their life, in any setting, even if your significant other hates it and threatens to burn it.
I'm not a Rangers fan, but the latest look for the Rangers has me wanting to wear it for all the world to see and refuse to take it off even if my significant other burns it while I'm still wearing it.
There's nothing overly complicated in the new (old?) look for the Rangers—just colors that complement each other nicely and a design that is unmistakably unique.
So often, we see teams try to change with the times and in the process make the colors on their uniforms as glaring as possible, thinking that uniforms stand out only if they resemble a neon yellow traffic sign.
You only have to look at the old-school uniforms of the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Mighty Ducks to know how not to design a jersey.
The key to a great jersey is saying, "This is our style and we're not desperate. Take it or leave it."
Well, I'm taking this jersey home and wearing it as far away from the fireplace as possible.
