Georgia Football: 5 Reasons Bulldogs Fans Are Thankful
While the Bulldog Nation are stuffing their faces with turkey and stuffing this weekend, the Bulldogs are gearing up for their final regular season game against Georgia Tech and going for their 10th consecutive win.
It's not like the team will not celebrate Thanksgiving, but they have bigger goals on their mind, and they will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.
Fans are thankful that they have a team that is playing well and doing all the necessary things to win every game.
Here are five other reasons fans are thankful for the Bulldogs.
Aaron Murray
1 of 5In order for the Bulldogs to have success, the quarterback has to play well, and Aaron Murray is doing big things this year.
Murray averages 222 passing yards per game and leads the SEC in passing touchdowns with 28.
Murray already broke the school record for touchdown passes, and with three more games left, he should have at least 35 when the season ends.
Malcolm Mitchell
2 of 5Because Murray has done a good job of distributing his passes to numerous receivers, Malcolm Mitchell does not have as many receptions as he should.
But Mitchell has proven he is a true deep threat and has fans thinking about what he's going to do on the field and not how they miss A.J. Green.
Chris Conley and Michael Bennett are the two other young receivers who have played well, but Mitchell exploded onto the scene and never looked back.
Jarvis Jones
3 of 5The defense has been stellar all season long, and the reason for their strong play is the impact Jarvis Jones has made.
Jones leads the SEC in sacks with 12.5 and tackles for loss with 18.5.
He has provided an edge to a defense that has been lacking an identity the last few years.
But credit has to go with players like Alec Olgetree and Abry Jones, because they have also played strong football.
Mark Richt
4 of 5After an 0-2 start to the season, many were wondering if Mark Richt was going to get fired after the season was over.
But now the Bulldogs are 9-2, and one reason they have been successful is the steady hand of Richt.
He does not get too happy after a win and does not get too down after a loss.
That attitude is huge in order to be a successful coach in the SEC, and Richt has always done that well.
SEC Championship
5 of 5With the Bulldogs' 7-1 record in the SEC, they are the SEC East Champions and are back in the SEC title game for the first time since 2005.
They will go into the game as a heavy underdog, but reaching the conference championship is an achievement, and it shows fans that the Bulldogs are getting back to being one of the top teams in the SEC.
All fans want is a chance to win the title, and the Bulldogs have done that this year.
