Waiver Wire Week 12: Matt Forte and Fantasy Football Stars to Sell High
Week 12 of the 2011 NFL season is upon us, and you know what that means—time to start shuffling your roster for the fantasy football playoffs!
I know, exciting stuff, right?
Getting value for the players you have is just as important as finding quality contributors on the waiver wire. You'd be wise to try to fleece your buddies via trade if you have any (or all) of these three guys on your squad.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears
Trade Matt Forte? Now that he's back to being the Bears offense with Jay Cutler sidelined? Am I NUTS?!
Maybe, but look closer and you'll see a rather foggy fantasy future ahead for Forte. Sure, his occasionally-gaudy yardage totals are nice, though he's managed only two touchdowns in his last six games and just four scores all season.
And if you think Cutler's injury is actually going to help Forte, think again. Chicago's remaining opponents figure to load up the box to stop Forte, which won't necessarily limit his touches but will make it much more difficult for him to do anything of value with the ball once he has it.
Torrey Smith, WR, Baltimore Ravens
If anyone has a magical formula for determining when Torrey Smith is going to have a breakout game, please let me know. The kid went crazy against Bengals on Sunday, hauling in six catches for 165 yards and a touchdown.
But that was only Smith's third fantasy-worthy game of the season. The guy's the definition of a feast-or-famine fantasy player and will probably remain that way the rest of the season, especially with three games against top-10 receiving defenses left on the Ravens' schedule.
Hence, if your adversary, impressed with Smith's deep-ball potential, offers you a king's ransom for the speedy wideout, you'd best be taking him/her up on it.
Matt Moore, QB, Miami Dolphins
Like Smith, Matt Moore has had three good fantasy games this season interspersed between bunk. The one constant for Moore has been small totals in the yardage column. He's averaged less than 200 yards per game passing this season, with a season-high of 244 yards against the Chiefs.
His three touchdown passes against the Bills were money, but his 160 yards through the air were much more telling of his actual productivity. Quarterbacks may be dropping like flies these days, but there are certainly better signal callers to be had.
You might even be able to find a better one in exchange for Moore!
