College Football Recruiting 2012: Worst Recruiting Classes from the BCS Top 25
Week 13 is here and the BCS standings are out. We're getting down to crunch time and gut check time for anybody to challenge the SEC for the right to have two teams in the national title game.
Anybody?
No?
Ok, fine.
While the SEC and more specifically the SEC West dominates the top three notches of this weeks BCS standings, for this read I'm just going to give you which teams in the top 25 of the standings are cold as ice on the recruiting front.
Let's get it in.
Kansas State
1 of 3It's a toss up between Kansas and Kansas State for worst class in the Big 12. But K-State is in the BCS standings, so I'm rolling them out here.
The Wildcats usually hit up the junior college circuit pretty heavily for instant impact players, but this year, as it stands right now, they are not having a good year recruiting.
Bill Snyder has only 11 commitments, no 4-star recruits and six players who are rated at 3-stars.
That's not too good either.
Gerogia Tech
2 of 3Right now, scout.com lists Georgia Tech as it's 54th best recruiting class in the country. Now, in reality, you're not going to see the Yellow Jackets be among the sexy schools to prep prospects.
They run an old school offense and recruit certain players to fit what they want to do. However, yes, their class is among the bottom portion as far as BCS top 25 teams go.
Paul Johnson has 11 commitments, with only one player being a 4-star recruit.
Nebraska
3 of 3Nebraska has just seven commitments, and they are not on a good track right now. I like Tommy Armstrong, I like Jordan Westerkamp and I like Paul Thurston.
But, just seven pledges. That's not Cornhusker recruiting.
It's shocking because with the move to the Big Ten, the energy surrounding the Cornhusker program and Nebraska having a solid class last year, you'd imagine they'd be in store for a better output then they've shown right now.
