BCS Standings: The 5 Most Stacked Rosters in the BCS Top 25
Stacked rosters doesn't always equal success on the field. Look at the Philadelphia Eagles if you need an example.
It helps to have talent. It helps even more to have a ton of it.
Team is the name of the game, though, and sometimes those that have a ton of individual talent don't always get it done when it comes to wins and losses.
Coming off a crazy Saturday that saw several of the top teams in the nation upset, let's take a look at the most stacked rosters in the BCS standings.
5. South Carolina
1 of 5The Old Ball Coach has a roster absolutely loaded with talent. He may have been missing a quarterback with his head screwed on straight, but nonetheless, the Gamecocks are stacked with talent.
They are loaded on both sides of the ball. If they find a replacement for Alshon Jeffery and Marcus Lattimore comes back healthy, then they have championship-level talent.
4. Oklahoma
2 of 5The Sooners were ranked No. 1 heading into the season for a reason. They are loaded with talent, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
The questions with the Sooners are on the defensive side of the ball, but they have the athletes there as well.
This Oklahoma roster, top to bottom, even with injuries to Ryan Broyles and Dominique Whaley, can stack up against any other in the nation.
3. Oregon
3 of 5Sure the Ducks lost to USC, but that doesn't mean this roster isn't absolutely loaded with talent.
There is entirely too much speed on this team. Their running backs alone would form an impressive 4x100 meter relay team.
All of the skill positions on the Ducks roster are loaded with athleticism and speed. You can't play for Chip Kelly if you can't run.
Even the guys upfront are athletes. They may be smaller on the offensive and defensive lines compared to what you may see in the SEC, but they are talented nonetheless.
You will see several of these current Ducks playing on Sundays in the near future.
2. Alabama
4 of 5This Alabama team reminds me of the one that won the BCS Championship in 2009. The are loaded with future pro prospects up and down the roster.
In 2009 the Tide broke in a new starting quarterback and running back. That's exactly what they did this year with A.J. McCarron and Trent Richardson.
They are missing the big-play deep threat that Julio Jones was, but that's about it, other than a kicker.
Both lines are fantastic as well, but the true strength of this roster lies on the defensive side of the ball, where the Crimson Tide are just loaded with talented playmakers.
1. LSU
5 of 5Not many teams can go through what LSU has gone through this season and still make it through undefeated.
With all of the off-field trouble leading to suspension after suspension, the Tigers just keep plugging the next guy in and they just keep getting the job done.
The LSU second string talent is better than most schools first string talent, and they've shown it off against quality competition.
There is a reason they are undefeated at this point and it's quality depth throughout their roster.
Defensively they are outstanding. I have no idea how freshman crack this lineup, but they continue to get the top recruits.
Offensively, they may not have much first-round talent, but don't let that fool you. They are a pretty talented unit throughout.
Finally, we all know about the LSU special teams, which they always seem to be among the nation's best.
