Kentucky vs. Georgia: 5 Half-Time Adjustments for the Wildcats
The Kentucky Wildcats are out to shock the state of Georgia today. Steve Spurrier's new favorite team has stuck right with the Bulldogs in the first half.
Here are five adjustments Joker Phillips and company need to make in order to escape Sanford Stadium with a win and their bowl hopes intact.
Execution (Catch the Damn Ball):
So far the Cats have dropped at least four passes, botched a fake field goal and a squib kick. If the Cats are going to shock the world and keep their bowl hopes alive, they are going to need to execute better in the second half and La’ Rod King is going to have to catch the ball.
Effort:
The Wildcats can’t leave anything on the field today; it is going to take an uncommon effort to beat the Dawgs. For the most part, the Cats are giving it all they’ve got, but watching Matt Rork give up on the play after Maxwell Smith’s interception made me sick to my stomach.
Get the Offense on Schedule:
UK is ranked 116th in the nation on third-down conversions, while Georgia ranks second in the country, allowing only a 27 percent third-down conversion rate. If the Wildcats are going to have a chance in the fourth quarter of this game, they'll need to turn it around on third-down.
Keep the Crowd Quiet:
So far, the Cats have kept the Sanford Stadium faithful deathly quiet, and it is going to need to stay that way if Kentucky is going to escape the Deep South with their bowl hopes still intact.
