Penn State Denies Ever Receiving Report from Mike McQueary on Alleged Rape

Gabe ZaldivarNov 16, 2011

The pot couldn't possibly get any thicker regarding the sordid Penn State scandal, but that is exactly what seems to have happened.

ESPN reports Penn State police officials as well as State College police are denying they ever received a report of any kind alleging a rape by Jerry Sandusky.

Mike McQueary has been silent since this scandal broke. Except for an all too brief interview by CBS News, we haven't heard "boo" from the Penn State receivers coach.

That doesn't mean we haven't received his words second-hand. According to the report, McQueary sent an email out to former players. In it he said, "I did stop it, not physically, but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room."

He continued, "I did have discussions with police and with the official at the university in charge of police." That claim to former players is now being dissected by the masses that were never meant to see those words.

The leaked email is counter to what is currently coming from State College police. Police chief Tom King said Wednesday:

"

He didn't come to State College police. The crime happened on campus and we don't have jurisdiction on campus. We've had no reports (of Sandusky sexually abusing someone) from anybody.

"

The report states the university has its own police force and that it was never notified either. The need to hear McQueary and his side of the story is at an all-time high.

Logic tells you there are only a few options here: 1) Mike McQueary is a liar and never reported this to police officials; 2) McQueary reported it to an official he believed to be a police official that would follow up and instead stopped the allegations there; and 3) The police force is covering its rear end now.

The frustrating part is that we are left to fill in the pieces of a puzzle that may not exist, as McQueary continues to be silenced by legal bonds.

One thing is certain. This story is much deeper and darker than we ever thought.
