Mike McQueary Interview: Twitter Reacts to McQueary's CBS Interview
Mike McQueary will be hitting the airwaves Tuesday night. It is safe to assume that McQueary will be attempting to offer his side of the story in an attempt to ease the intense public criticism levied towards him.
The interview will be on the CBS Evening News at 6:30 p.m. EST.
Last week NBC learned the McQueary informed friends via email that he did stop Jerry Sandusky's attack of a young boy in the Penn State showers.
ESPN later revealed that McQueary also told friends, in the same email, that he went to the police.
This runs contrary to the information that came to light from grand jury testimony that alleged he did nothing to stop the attack, but turned and left.
Those allegations have led to McQueary being absolutely vilified by the public.
This subject has been a lightning rod for public reaction, and McQueary is clearly one of the main players. Millions of people will be watching this interview and many of them will be putting their thoughts on display on Twitter.
We'll give you a good run down and encapsulation of those thoughts right here. This page will be updated as the day goes on with the most recent updates appearing at the top.
CBS is getting absolutely crushed by the Twitterverse right now.
There is this:
All of which led to yours truly proclaiming:
CBS' interview is not being well received by the public.
Not everyone is convinced that this interview was the best of ideas for McQueary.
McQueary could find himself in double jeopardy if claims that he went to the police.
And if it was just the campus police is going to lead to a whole new set of problems for Penn State. It certainly is not going to help the case for Gary Schultz.
Also, if he did just mean that he went to going to Schultz was going to the police it is not going to help him in the court of public opinion.
Jason Whitlock is convinced that McQueary's allegiance to Joe Paterno will be on display.
McQueary has a lot of convincing to do if he wants to change his public perception.
Apparently nothing he says will change this person's mind.
Some, like this tweeter, are understandably skeptical of McQueary's intentions.
Another interesting facet of this is the fact that if McQueary did contact the University police then people are going to be calling for a lot more change at PSU.
Much more to come....
