NFL Week 11 Predictions: Projecting the Week's Most Explosive Offenses

John RozumNov 15, 2011

It should come as no surprise who the NFL's most explosive offenses are. However, there are two other offenses quickly gaining notoriety throughout the NFL.

In the pass-happy league we see before us, here are three of Week 11's most explosive offenses.

Green Bay Packers (vs. Tampa Bay)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers allow an average of just over 400 total yards per game and rank No. 28 and No. 29 against the pass and rush, respectively.

So what makes anyone think they have a shot at slowing down the mighty Packers in Green Bay?

Exactly—they have no shot and will be sliced all game long. Tampa is simply lacking confidence and the talented youth just aren't stepping up.

Therefore, barring a catastrophic breakdown from the cheese-heads, Aaron Rodgers will dice the Bucs up even more than he shredded the Vikings.

San Francisco 49ers (vs. Arizona)

Although the 49ers aren't a pass-first team, San Francisco has the ability to dominate and put up a legit number of points. For one thing, their ground game is arguably the best in football—and the Cardinals defense allows over 120 yards on the ground per game.

In addition, Ted Ginn is one of the more dangerous return men in the NFL and has the ability to take one back anytime. The 49ers may not feel like an explosive team during their games because they run the ball quite a bit—but putting up a sick number of points is explosive, no matter what.

Alex Smith may be a game-managing QB at his core, but when given the green light, he can strike shots downfield like a bow-and-arrow marksman.

Dallas Cowboys (at Washington)

The Cowboys are emerging as a damn explosive offense thanks to the recent surge by rookie RB DeMarco Murray. Murray is providing Dallas with arguably their best rushing attack since the days of Emmitt Smith.

Yes, that's saying a lot, but you can't help but give props and acknowledge the dominance that Murray has put forth since taking over the starting role. In turn, that has take a significant amount of pressure off Tony Romo and the passing game.

Not to mention that it helps having the luxury of "plug-n-play," so to speak, when sifting through Cowboys WRs. Anyone can have a breakout game at any time, which also shows us why Romo is a lot better than given credit for.

The Redskins are arguably playing the worst football in the NFL right now and Dallas will dial up a few long balls to go with a punishing ground game. Anything less than 30 in this game will be disappointing for the Cowboys.
