Minnesota vs. Green Bay: Adrian Peterson Will Carry Vikings to Shocking Upset
The Green Bay Packers are sitting pretty at 8-0, and the talk of an undefeated season is starting to pick up steam. Unfortunately, that talk will be for naught after Adrian Peterson guides the Minnesota Vikings to an upset in Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football.
There are so many reasons to pick the Packers: Aaron Rodgers, opportunistic defense, Vikings starting a rookie quarterback and having the 30th ranked pass defense, etc.
You would be forgiven if you didn't even know anyone else on the Vikings roster besides Peterson, like Peyton's Head.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
But the great equalizer in the NFL is a fantastic rushing attack, and Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the league. He can make even the worst offense look respectable because of his reckless running style that has made him so dominant.
Sure, the Vikings have had a hard season, and things have gotten so bad that there are jokes being made about the team and coaching staff.
Here is one of those jokes, courtesy of Tom Powers and the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
""Apparently, Leslie Frazier's residence was egged earlier this season. An investigation revealed that two eggs hit his front door, two skimmed off the top of the roof, two wound up in his neighbor's yard and a half-dozen landed on the welcome mat, several feet short of the door.
"Police suspect Donovan McNabb ..."
"
Since Christian Ponder has been inserted in the starting lineup, the Vikings have played better. In his first career start, he threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns against the Packers. The team was competitive in the game and only lost by six points.
That same game saw Peterson run for 175 yards, so he will not be intimidated by the Packers' stout defensive front seven.
The Packers defense has been vulnerable all season long, and even though it has been able to create turnovers, it's still giving up points in bunches and is flirting with disaster.
The Vikings will have to shore up some things with their defense, particularly the secondary that allows 274 pass yards per game. But, if Peterson runs the ball as effectively as he did the first time these teams played, the Packers offense won't have enough time to score.
Aaron Rodgers can have his MVP season and possibly another Super Bowl appearance, but he will not get an undefeated season to go along with it. The Vikings are going to run Peterson ragged and let him single-handedly defeat the defending champions.
