Week 11 Waiver Wire: Lance Ball and Others You Must Add
An injury replacement tops my list of three great waiver wire pickups of Week 11, while a running back and a wide receiver, fantasy afterthoughts both, have emerged as worthwhile adds as you make your playoff push.
RB Lance Ball, Denver Broncos (vs New York Jets)
Just a note before I begin the sales pitch: Ball's Broncos host the Jets this Thursday night, so you have a shorter period of time to determine if you want to pick him up and start him.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Ball is a highly-coveted player this week for a number of reasons. Fellow backs Willis McGahee (hamstring) and Knowshon Moreno (knee) are injured, with Moreno confirmed out for Thursday's game. Depending on how quickly McGahee can recover will determine Ball's involvement in his team's run offense, but it's clear that he will get some carries.
Considering that the Broncos passed just eight times (for two completions) in their Week 10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, it's more than likely that they will continue on their extremely run-heavy approach to offense.
Even if McGahee is active, the hamstring injury should limit his effectiveness somewhat, and there's always the fear of re-aggravation on the field. With Ball carrying 30 times for 96 yards after Moreno and McGahee went down, he's a great option to add this week and to start, especially if you're weak at running back or have a starter on the bye.
RB Bernard Scott, Cincinnati Bengals (at Baltimore Ravens)
Bengals running back Bernard Scott has a higher yards-per-carry average than starter Cedric Benson despite seeing significantly fewer snaps, making him an intriguing addition for Week 11 with the team meeting the Baltimore Ravens.
He had seven rushes for 38 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 and has 65 carries on the year, for 223 yards and a touchdown. While these numbers aren't very inspiring, the fact that he manages significant gains with limited playing time makes him a useful bench addition.
The fact that Seattle's Marshawn Lynch proved that a team can successfully run against the Ravens defense (he had 109 yards and a score on the ground, plus another 58 receiving yards in Week 10) makes Scott a highly risky but still smart play for those fantasy owners dealing with serious problems at running back.
WR Harry Douglas, Atlanta Falcons (vs. Tennessee Titans)
The New Orleans Saints kept Falcons wide receiver Roddy White under tight coverage in their team's Week 10 win over Atlanta, and if the Titans learned anything they'll do the same this week. Fellow receiver Julio Jones left the game with a hamstring injury, leaving Harry Douglas as his stand-in.
Douglas shined as quarterback Matt Ryan's primary receiver, with eight catches on 14 targets for 133 yards, more than doubling his previous best effort of the season.
He has 25 receptions for 332 yards on the season, and while it's hard to imagine the Titans having as much success stifling White as the Saints did, Douglas still makes for a good addition to your roster as a Week 11 spot-start.
Of course, Douglas' status relies on Jones' hamstring. Keep an eye on Jones' progress in practice this week; if he doesn't participate on Wednesday and things aren't looking promising, add and start Douglas.
