BCS Rankings Week 12: Arkansas and Teams Capable of Blowing Up the BCS
The No. 6 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks have the potential to make the BCS computers explode.
The Hogs are another one-loss SEC team just like No. 3 Alabama with one key difference—they still get to play No. 1 LSU.
Obviously, the Tigers will be favored in Baton Rouge, but if the Razorbacks are able to take advantage of their 13th ranked offense—things will get very interesting.
We would have three one-loss teams in the SEC with each holding one win and one loss in the trio. Why shouldn't the Razorbacks be in the mix with a win against LSU?
Alabama would have something to say about that, considering they beat Arkansas by 24 points. Then LSU would have major issues with 'Bama passing them up.
It would be madness and here's to hoping it happens. Any sort of BCS controversy is a good thing in my book. Here are two other teams that can bust the BCS:
USC Trojans
No. 4 Oregon is vaulting up the BCS standings by trouncing their opponents each and every week. They have won all nine of their games by at least two touchdowns.
All of that momentum would be thrown out the window if they can't beat the Trojans at home. It would completely mess up the Pac-12 standings, BCS rankings and title picture.
Would the Ducks still be above No. 9 Stanford with another loss? I think they should considering they just handed the Cardinal a 53-30 loss on their HOME field.
A Trojans win over the Ducks would have a ton of ramifications.
No. 11 Houston Cougars
The No. 1 ranked offense in the nation is unstoppable. QB Casey Keenum should be in the Heisman conversation and the defense is a respectable 41st in the nation, allowing 22.8 points a game.
The cupcake schedule doesn't help, but barring some sort of miracle they will be undefeated when the smoke clears on the regular season.
Let's say LSU and No. 2 Oklahoma State lose—why shouldn't the last perfect team get a shot?
I doubt they could leap frog all of the one-loss teams, but they sure would have a compelling argument.
