Mario Götze: Juventus

Lindsay EanetNov 13, 2011

Antonio Conte's side has reportedly joined the race for the hot-item Borussia Dortmund playmaker, with Conte remarking that he sees Götze as the heir-apparent to Alessandro del Piero. And from the head honcho at Juventus, that's a pretty tall order. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are preparing a bid worth £17 million for the summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, Juve faces quite a bit of competition for Götze from the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United and perhaps most importantly, from his current club, Borussia Dortmund. Götze is still under contract until 2014, and removing him from the Westfalenstadion may prove difficult, as coach Jürgen Klopp is a big fan of the wünderkind. But if Borussia Dortmund struggles in Europe—and it looks as though their Champions League run may be over soon—Götze may be swayed, as Juve's stock is rising.

Eden Hazard: Barcelona, Inter Milan

1 of 7

That's right kids, it's time for again for HAZARD WATCH. (cue overproduced heavy metal music)

First it was Arsenal, then Real Madrid at some point, then Chelsea, then Manchester City, and now it looks like there is yet another new contender in the race for the 20-year-old ready-to-exit Lille golden boy: Barcelona.

Although Andre Villas-Boas and Arsene Wenger have been reported to be jockeying for position to sign Hazard, the Blaugrana may make a move for the £20 million-rated playmaker, according to a report from CrunchSports.

According to the report, Barça have very recently been linked to a transfer move for Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, and Hazard would be the cheaper and more realistic option of the two.

He's focusing his energies on finishing strong at Lille, but last week, Hazard hinted that there may be another team eventually on his horizon, and said he'd love to play for Inter Milan.

As he said

"

"Inter are a fantastic team. It would be mythical to play there once. But now I insist I think about Lille and we'll see what happens at the end of the season."

Carlos Tévez: Nobody

2 of 7

Tévez's departure from the Etihad after this season was all but an inevitability; it was just a matter of where. Boca Juniors, Corinthians, Al-Wasl, Anzhi, Málaga, Spurs, and even recently Liverpool were all mentioned as possible options.

But now, following his most recent transgression—an unauthorized trip home to Argentina, resulting in two weeks' wages fine and possible further action—in a season marred with disciplinary problems, he may have trouble finding an exit at all. A summit on Monday will determine his footballing future, but Manchester City could sack him, especially if he doesn't show up, and the continuation of this saga could put his future prospects in serious jeopardy.

David Villa: Liverpool

3 of 7

In one of the more surprising rumors that has emerged over the weekend, David Villa is reportedly, maybe, possibly being courted by Kenny Dalglish's side. The striker performed for Barcelona in the first leg of the Supercopa de España, where he contributed an excellent goal to help them defeat Real Madrid, and scored a brace in Barça's routing of Osasuna.

But other than that, he's been rather quiet, and there have been rumors, spurred by Valencia sports paper Superdeporte, that Villa is unhappy at the Camp Nou and is having some issues with Lionel Messi. And given Andy Carroll's recent difficulties playing alongside Luis Suárez, perhaps the Reds will be in the market for a new striker, one who could better adapt to their attack fixture's style. Although Villa's a long shot, he's certainly food for thought.

Frank Lampard: Los Angeles Galaxy

5 of 7

Wait...what?

It's pretty doubtful that Lamps would leave the Stamford Bridge right now—he's an institution at the club, and he's been doing pretty darn well this season, showing good form in the Premiership and in Europe (not to mention being the hero of the England-Spain match over the weekend).

But apparently the American league may launch an ambitious bid for the on-fire veteran. According to a report from A Different League, the Los Angeles Galaxy will be looking for a UK superstar to fill the void when David Beckham's contract expires, and they may be going for Frankie Lampard, in an effort to give the league more publicity in the manner Beckham did.

It would be a lucrative operation for the Galaxy, to be sure, but if they were to consult a magic 8-ball on transfer decisions, it would probably say, "Don't count on it."

Lucas Moura: Inter Milan

6 of 7

Granted, Lucas Moura's family members have been trying to dispel this rumor, so make of it what you will. The highly talented Brazilian teen who is lighting up Brazil at São Paulo has most regularly been linked to Liverpool and Real Madrid, the latter becoming more of a possibility, as the Real Madrid-Neymar deal fell through at the last minute, with the 19-year-old Santos star signing a contract extension.

Lucas' father, Jorge Rodrigues, talked to the press after rumors surfaced that agent Jorge Figer was trying to broker a deal between the starlet and Inter Milan. It should also probably be noted that he's not Lucas' usual agent. With Lucas' future still in flux, his father was worried the press would lead to bad blood with São Paulo supporters.

As his father told Globosporte:

"

"The team is not playing well at the moment. If a story like this comes out in the press, tomorrow the fans will start attacking him, calling him a mercenary. It is very strange for this news to come out now, it is like there is someone behind all of this wanting to plant information."

The Andrey Arshavin / Jefferson Farfán Swap: Arsenal and Schalke 04

7 of 7

This is another transfer rumor that will likely make readers go "Hmmm," and which Arsenal fans will find rather divisive.

According to one report, Schalke 04 is willing to give Arsene Wenger Peruvian winger Jefferson Farfán in exchange for Andrey Arshavin. Wenger had expressed interest before in Farfán, who won four Eredivisie titles with PSV Eindhoven before coming to the Bundesliga club in 2008.

A solid, fast performer and hard worker, Farfán contributed to Schalke winning the DFB-Pokal last season, as well as an impressive run in the Champions League. Arshavin has done well in an impact sub role, but his recent lack of consistency and composure may contribute to his departure from the Emirates. We'll see what happens.
