Penn State Scandal: Nebraska Shows True Class in Helping PSU with Blue Ribbons
The University of Nebraska Alumni Association will help the Penn State community move forward by distributing hundreds of blue ribbons before, during and after Saturday's game at noon, according to TMZ.
If students and fans do not have a way to acquire a blue ribbon, Cornhuskers alumni would like Nebraska fans to wear blue so they can show their support for Penn State during this difficult time for the school.
This is a classy move by Nebraska, who are trying to make the game as comfortable as possible for everyone involved.
Saturday's Senior Day game at Beaver Stadium will be an emotional day for several reasons, and Nebraska's willingness to help the Penn State fans and players focus on football for a few hours is truly admirable.
The university has increased security for the game amid concerns of safety, and with Nebraska making a strong effort to ensure its fans do not cause additional problems, hopefully the game can run smoothly like normal.
There is an important Big Ten game to be played on Saturday, one that has conference championship implications.
Both Nebraska and Penn State need a win to remain a contender for a BCS bowl game berth in January, and now that the Cornhuskers are making a good effort to eliminate distractions, hopefully we can have a good football game on Saturday to help the Penn State community begin the lengthy healing process.
