Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: Michael Bush and Players Set to Benefit from Injuries

Josh MartinNov 10, 2011

Injuries—they're as much a fact of life in the NFL as they are obstacles to be maneuvered around in the world of fantasy football.

Now, if you're looking to for the silver lining around the lingering clouds of health concerns around football (which you should), then be sure to consider these guys, who will once again be stepping into bigger and potentially more productive roles this week.

Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders

I've always liked Michael Bush, both as a fantasy player and, well, a real-life running back. At 6'1" and 245 pounds, the guy is an absolute load and knows how to throw his weight around to great effect.

With Darren McFadden expected to sit out once again with a foot injury, Bush will get the bulk of the carries for the Raiders offense behind the shaky Carson Palmer. Bush accounted for 129 total yards and a touchdown against the Broncos and should put up similar numbers against a Chargers defense that's allowed 120 rushing yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry to its opponents this season.

Chris Ogbonnaya, RB, Cleveland Browns

Okay, so Chris Ogbonnaya was a severe disappointment in his first start of the season last week, with just 41 total yards against the Texans.

But if you're looking for a good play, if only for a week, then Ogbonnaya is your guy. He'll be running against a Rams unit that's allowed an unsightly 153.6 yards per game rushing and, in turn, the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

He'll be a great fill-in for Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty this week, but don't expect him to do much of anything going forward, when the Browns play the Jaguars, the Bengals, the Ravens twice and the Steelers twice.

Laurent Robinson, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Laurent Robinson has already proven to be a more-than-capable substitute for Miles Austin, who pulled up lame with yet another re-aggravation of a pre-existing hamstring injury against the Seahawks this past Sunday.

Robinson accounted for 32 yards and a touchdown in Austin's place in that game and should find plenty more room to roam against a Bills defense that ranks 25th against the pass.

Austin will likely miss at least another week after this one, if not several, making Robinson a solid pickup for the long-term, especially given the delicacy of Austin's sore hammy.
