Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Play: Start 'Em
Mike Shanahan is a fantasy owners nightmare when it comes to running backs, but it appears as if Roy Helu is the go-to guy in the backfield now.
He led the Redskins in carries last week. In fact, the only other RB to get a carry was Ryan Torain and he only had one.
Forget about the carries for a second, though. The human checkdown that goes by the name of John Beck found Helu 14 times in their last game.
If you are in a points per reception league, Helu is a star. And any kind of league you are in this week he is a good play. The Dolphins have been playing some solid rush defense, but Helu should get at least 15 carries and plenty of chances to produce.
The Dolphins are also ranked just 21st in guarding opposing running backs in the pass game.
Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw
Opponent: 49ers
Play: Sit 'Em
Tom Coughlin had hoped Ahmad Bradshaw could practice on Wednesday. According to NJ.com, he was not able to go due to a broken bone in his foot.
They are still hoping he can play this Sunday, but either way there is no reason to start Bradshaw this week.
The 49ers are first in rushing yards allowed per contest. They are also fourth in yards allowed per rush. This is bad news for whichever Giants back ends up getting the carries.
The Giants are worse at at running the ball as the 49ers are as good at stopping it. They are 30th in the NFL in yards per carry at 3.3.
The Giants are going to have to throw their way to this victory.
Saints RB Darren Sproles
Opponent: Falcons
Play: Sit 'Em
Darren Sproles won't have any highlight moments this week. So far, Sproles has been good for at least one big play a week. That is what has led to him having a 7.1 yards per rush average and an 8.0 yards per catch average, even though most of his catches come near the line of scrimmage.
He will be facing a Falcons team that is well-equipped to shut him down.
The Falcons are playing some solid rush defense. They are seventh in rushing yards allowed per game and ninth in yards allowed per attempt.
The Falcons have also done a solid job stopping running backs in the pass game. Football Outsiders ranks them 15th in defending RBs.
Sproles will have limited touches and limited production in this one.
