UFC on FOX: 5 Fights That Will End in a Knockout

G DNov 9, 2011

With UFC on FOX right around the corner, UFC fans across the globe have begun counting down the hours for what has the potential to be one of the most exciting fight cards of the entire year.

UFC 136 will take place in Anaheim, California on November 12 in front of a jammed-packed Honda Center.

The entire fight card consists of one main card fight and nine preliminary bouts.

The main card will headlined around current heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez who will look to successfully defend his title against number one contender, Junior Dos Santos.

Also featured on UFC on FOX is Clay Guida and Ben Henderson who will square off in a lightweight match up.

What makes this card even more exciting is the high possibility of knockouts that could take place throughout the evening.

The following slides display five fights that will end in a knockout at UFC on FOX.

Let's take a look

Mike Pierce vs. Paul Bradley

1 of 5

Mike Pierce and Paul Bradley will square off in a welterweight match up when UFC on FOX finally begins on November 12, 2011.

Fans in the sold out Honda Center can expect this preliminary bout to be one of the more exciting of the evening as both Pierce and Bradley will be looking to make a statement after suffering defeats in their most recent fights.

Pierce and Bradley have each knocked out six opponents over the course of their careers and will look to do so again when action begins.

It will more than likely be Pierce who is the aggressor early. However, both men will be swinging for the fences which will ultimately result in a knockout.

Mackens Semerzier vs. Robert Peralta

2 of 5

Mackens Semerzier and Robert Peralta will meet at UFC on FOX in one of the more underrated bouts of the evening.

Peralta will enter the Octagon on the best stretch of his mixed martial arts career having won eight consecutive fights.

Half of those bouts have ended via knockout. Peralta has a whooping 11 career victories by way of knockout and will look to continue his success when he squares off with Semerzier.

Unfortunately for Semerzier, he's knocked out just one opponent during his three year career.

If Semerzier can't defend himself in the stand up early, there's a good chance he'll be the 12th man Peralta knocks out.

Cub Swanson vs. Ricardo Lamas

3 of 5

Cub Swanson will enter the Octagon on November 12 to take on highly dangerous featherweight, Ricardo Lamas.

In one of the more electrifying bouts of the evening at UFC on FOX, Swanson will look to overwhelm Lamas with his shiftiness and speed.

While neither fighter is an exceptional knockout artist, fans shouldn't be surprised when they find these two fighters in a slug fest.

To Swanson's favor, both of Lamas' defeats have come by way of knockout.

However, Lamas is also coming off an impressive knockout victory over Matt Grice at UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry so Swanson needs to be on alert.

Dustin Poirier vs. Pablo Garza

4 of 5

Both Dustin Poirier and Pablo Garza will look to remain unbeaten in their UFC careers when they square off in a featherweight bout on November 12.

Poirier and Garza appear to be on a fast track to the top of the 145-pound weight class as neither fighter has yet to lose in 2011.

Garza will need to be on guard early as nearly half of Poirier's victories have resulted in a knockout.

And while Garza is primarily a submission artist, he has shown a skill set capable of knocking out his opponent.

But, in the end, fans shouldn't be surprised if Poirier connects with a huge strike that sends Garza to the ground and eventually finishes him from there.

Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos

5 of 5

In arguably the most anticipated bout of the entire year, current UFC heavyweight Cain Velasquez will look to remain unbeaten when he puts his title up for grabs against Junior Dos Santos.

The chances of this bout ending in anything other than a knockout are slim to none as both fighters are two of the hardest hitters in the UFC today.

In fact, in Velasquez's nine career bouts, he's knocked his opponent out eight times.

The No. 1 contender, Dos Santos, has knocked out eight opponents over the course of his career on route to earning his first title shot.

When action begins in front of the sold out Honda Center, UFC fans across the globe can almost be guaranteed to see one of these two fighters knock their opponent out.
