Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Why Pac-Man Will Finally Settle the Score
Manny Pacquiao may have never lost a fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, but he certainly looks like the loser in this feud.
On November 12, he will finally settle the score with the most prominent man that has eluded his devastating knockout punch. Marquez, the man that claims to have defeated Pacquiao twice—despite being 0-1-1 against the most vicious boxer in the sport—actually comes across looking like the true winner in this series.
You would be led to believe that Marquez truly punked Pac-Man in their first two bouts the way he and many others speak about this rivalry. Thus far, the jokes have been on Pacquiao, not the other way around, despite Pac-Man holding that coveted victory.
Marquez isn’t taking this fight lightly as he clearly wants to "stay ahead" in this trilogy psychologically. Not only has he upped the mind games, but he always bulked up for this fight. Perhaps he’s trying to intimidate Pac-Man mentally and finally physically, but it won’t have the effect he desires.
Pac-Man has been training like a man possessed heading into this fight—and it’s not just to prepare for a potential dream bout with Floyd Mayweather.
No.
Pacquiao is looking to punish Marquez for his despicable, false and worthless t-shirt propaganda. More importantly, Pacquiao is looking to destroy Marquez’s face after failing to fulfill his knockout venture in the first two bouts.
That’s the key to settling the score for Pacquiao—annihilating and knocking out Marquez. Pacquiao won’t be intimidated by Marquez’s newfound bulk.
If anything, Marquez has to hope he still has the same speed we’re accustomed to seeing and can keep up his guard.
Or else Pacquiao will penetrate his foes defenses and knock him off his rocker for the first, and only time, he’ll need to reign supreme.
