NFL Week 10 Predictions: Projecting the Week's Most Explosive Offenses

John RozumNov 8, 2011

Watching an explosive offense is arguably just as great a treat as a suffocating defense. Both are so very unique, fluid and poetic in their right.

And each week there are defenses who lock it down, as well as offenses who light it up. The following three teams are offenses that will explode through their opposition with mighty artistry.

Green Bay Packers (vs Minnesota)

The Packers have the best player in pro football right now, QB Aaron Rodgers, and watching him dish the ball around to countless receiving targets while eluding defenders and keeping his eyes down the field is unmatched.

It's like watching a slick pool player paint a picture around the billiards table, sinking every shot no matter where the cue lies. Rodgers and the Pack get Minnesota and their No. 30-ranked pass defense in Lambeau this week.

So, it won't matter where the football (cue ball) lies, because Rogers will slice the Vikings much like he did against them in The Metrodome in Week 7. On the year, Rodgers has only three picks, and Minnesota allowed him to complete 80 percent of his passes in the first meeting.

Yikes.

Atlanta Falcons (vs New Orleans)

This game is an interesting conundrum because both Atlanta and New Orleans are more known for their offenses than defenses. Only difference here, however, is that Atlanta is much better at home than the Saints are on the road.

That said, the Falcons get the nod and glide through New Orleans' easily bendable pass defense. QB Matt Ryan has gradually become more consistent as the year has progressed, and rookie WR Julio Jones emerged as Atlanta's most dangerous weapon last week.

The Saints have had issues defending against both the pass and run this season (No. 14 and No. 17, respectively), and have allowed more than 24 points on five different occasions.

Atlanta is beginning to hit a stride, so anticipate the Falcons continuing to roll while New Orleans struggles on the road once again.

Houston Texans (at Tampa Bay)

The Sombrero may be a difficult stadium to play in, and Tampa Bay does play much better at home than away.

However, the Buccaneers are facing a complete football team this week and the odds are vehemently against their defense. The Houston Texans rank No. 14 and No. 2 in pass and rush offense, to Tampa's No. 28 and No. 26 pass and rush defense.

Also, the Texans have figured out not only how to win without WR Andre Johnson, but how to play well on the road, as evidenced by their win over the Titans in Tennessee and their well-performed loss to the Ravens in Baltimore.

The Bucs are also having trouble playing at a consistent rate, whereas Houston has won three straight. In this game, Houston proves to be too dynamic and versatile, while the Bucs have yet to find their identity.
