Oregon Football: Ducks Come in at No. 7 in Most Recent BCS Rankings
After dropping in the rankings last week, the Oregon Ducks take a step forward as they climb to No. 8 in the most recent BCS poll.
This past week, Oregon headed up to Washington and played the Huskies in their final game in Husky Stadium. The Ducks had a strong defensive performance and got the offense going in the second half and won 34-17. The win was the Ducks' eighth straight in the rivalry.
While the win over Washington was nice and moving up a spot in the rankings is always a good thing, the Ducks know that this week's game against Stanford is the biggest game they have remaining on their schedule and will be the key to them winning the Pac-12 North and having a chance at their third straight conference title.
Along with putting themselves in the drivers seat of the conference, a win over Stanford will also help the Ducks keep hope alive for a last ditch effort at getting back to the national title game.
It has already been announced that ESPN's College Gameday is heading out to the Pac-12 for the Stanford and Oregon game and some streaks are on the line.
Right now, Stanford has the nation's longest winning streak and Oregon has won 18 straight conference games. The Ducks have outstanding running back LaMichael James and Stanford has All-American Andrew Luck.
Since Chip Kelly has taken over, the Ducks have only lost one conference game and that loss happened in 2009 at Stanford.
While the SEC had their game of the century this past week, the Ducks and Cardinal are going to headline the Pac-12's game of the year this Saturday.
