Breeders' Cup 2011: Classic Will Be a 2-Horse Race
This year's running of the 2011 Breeders' Cup has been full of surprises and big-name performances thus far.
Tonight's Classic event is, like always, the most anticipated race of the evening. The winner of the race will likely walk away with Horse of the Year honors.
Right now, the two horses that are controlling most of the attention are Uncle Mo and Havre De Grace.
Uncle Mo kicked off his career dominating the competition. He went 3-0-0 in his first three races in 2010, including a win in the Juvenile race at the 2010 Breeders' Cup.
Uncle Mo kicked off 2011 with a bang, winning his fourth straight race. Then, he stumbled a few races finishing second and third before getting back on track with a win in his most recent race.
At 5-1-1, Uncle Mo is the early favorite for the Classic.
Havre de Grace is also capturing a lot of attention this weekend.
The four-year-old filly has emerged as a top-tier horse this year after a solid start to her racing career.
This year, Havre de Grace has run a total of six races. She has won five of them and placed second in the other.
The sudden emergence onto the scene puts her at a total record of 8-4-2 and a fierce competitor in today's classic.
Other possible contenders in the race are Flat Out, Stay Thirsty and Game On Dude.
When it comes down to it, this race is really between two horses.
