Manny Pacquiao's Comments on Jimmy Kimmel Hold No Weight

Michael MillNov 5, 2011

When Manny Pacquiao continued his tradition of appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," he made some bold statements concerning a future fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new.

Both Pac-Man and Mayweather have been nothing but talk when it concerns the two meeting in the ring.

We have witnessed both do just that over the past few days.

When appearing on Kimmel, Pacquiao answered some pretty direct questions regarding the feud between him and Mayweather.

When asked if he thought Mayweather was scared, Pac-Man responded with "I don't know what's the reason, but I'm ready to fight him."

Kimmel later joked about the idea of a winner-take-all fight. Jokingly, Pacquiao agreed, but added that he didn't think Mayweather would like the idea.

It's the typical response that we have come to see from Pacquiao. He is ready to fight, but when put in the position to make the fight happen, he backs down for stupid reasons.

Obviously, Mayweather wasn't too pleased with some of the shots that were taken on the show.

It took just hours for Mayweather's camp to put up the idea of a fight between the two boxing stars to be set for May 5.

Already, Pacquiao's promoted Bob Arum is blowing it off.

"The way they are going about it seems like a bizarre way to go about it. If you want to put it together, you meet, you talk. You don't just come out and say, 'The fight is May 5 at the MGM.' ...I think it's Floyd's way of trying to grab a little bit of the spotlight away from Manny. I'm not going to get upset. I take it with a grain of salt."

It's nothing but a continuation of the game that these two have playing for a long time now.

Mayweather says he's ready when Pacquiao is. Pacquiao says he's ready when Mayweather is.

Here is an idea, guys. Stop talking and actually make it happen.

At this rate, neither of them are going to be remembered for what they have done in the ring. They are both going to be remembered for being cowards.
