Oregon vs. Washington: Last Minute Spread Info, BCS Impact, Line and Prediction

Andrew KulhaNov 3, 2011

Any college football game that features the No. 8 Oregon Ducks is going to be high scoring, but especially a matchup with the Washington Huskies.

Even though the Ducks have one loss, they are still very much so in the hunt for a national title, or at least a very good bowl game, so at 7-1, this game is incredibly important.

The Huskies are feeling pretty good themselves at 6-2 and 4-1 in the Pac-12, though, and a win over such a marquee opponent would go a long ways in establishing themselves in the conference.

With both teams averaging a ton of points per game, it would be easy to anticipate a shoot-out.

Either way, I would expect a very entertaining game.

Where: Husky Stadium, Seattle, WA

Spread: Oregon -17

We've seen Oregon cover some big spreads in the past, so don't be surprised to see it happen again.

Over/Under: 75

This is a huge number, but these two teams can do it.

Key Injuries:

Oregon: Running back LaMichael James probable (elbow), cornerback Anthony Gildon probable (undisclosed), punter Jackson Rice questionable (hip), linebacker Kiko Alonso questionable (leg), defensive end Tony Washington questionable (elbow), tight end Curtis White questionable (leg).

Washington: wide receiver Kasen Williams probable (ankle), linebacker Jamaal Kearse probable (ankle), cornerback Anthony Gobern probable (concussion).

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

At No. 8, Oregon still has a good shot at the BCS championship if they can run the table. Washington, on the other hand, would win a pretty good ranking with a win.

Keys to Oregon Win:

LaMichael James should be back and ready to go, so the best way to get the team going is to break him in fast. Feed James the ball and let him get his legs back under him. Get a big lead and let him sit.

Keys to Washington Win:

Quarterback Keith Price is going to have to add to his 23 touchdowns and 1,990 yards if the Huskies have a shot at winning this game.

Prediction:

Washington will score, but in the end, the Ducks are too good.
