Nick Diaz and the Top 5 Post-Fight Interviews in UFC History
There's no wondering why mixed martial arts has come to be the world's fastest growing sport as it provides its fans with immeasurable entertainment.
However, it's not just the fighters' performances that have attracted many fans over the years, but the entertainment these fighters bring following their bouts.
Specifically in the UFC, we've seen some of the greatest post-fight interviews with some of the world's greatest athletes.
For a fan, there's nothing more spectacular than seeing a fighter call out a fellow fighter and begin a rivalry that could last for years.
So, the following slides display the five greatest post-fight interviews in UFC history.
Let's take a look.
5. Josh Koscheck at UFC 113
1 of 5There were a lot of things that happened when Josh Koscheck met Paul Daley at UFC 113.
UFC fans got to witness Daley connect on a huge strike. Unfortunately, the one punch that Daley did land was after the fight had already ended.
But, it was in Koscheck's post-fight interview when he addressed the Montreal, Quebec, crowd by stating,
"Hey don't worry, Pittsburgh Penguins are going to kick your a-- next week, baby. Yeah!"
"And then I'm going to beat St-Pierre, so you guys are going to lose twice. How about that? Yeah, that's right, Montreal."
4. Nick Diaz at UFC 137
2 of 5After the biggest victory of his mixed martial arts career at UFC 137, Nick Diaz wasted no time in addressing the current welterweight champion, George St-Pierre.
While Diaz said a lot of things in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, none struck home more than his comments regarding St-Pierre's injuries.
Diaz stated,
"I don't think Georges is hurt."
"I think he's scared to fight everyone right now."
3. Brock Lesnar at UFC 100
3 of 5Following the first successful title defense of his UFC career, Brock Lesnar chose to take a route that most fighters stay away from.
In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Lesnar called out none other than his own sponsor, Bud Light.
Lesnar stated,
"I'm going to go home tonight. I'm going to drink a Coors Light. That's a Coors Light because Bud Light won't pay me nothing."
Lesnar went on,
"I'm going to sit down with my friends and family. And hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight."
2. Tito Oritz, Chuck Liddell and Ken Shamrock at UFC 51
4 of 5After defeating Vitor Belfort at UFC 51, Tito Ortiz did something hardly any fighter ever does.
He called out not one, but two fighters.
In his post-fight interview Ortiz was asked who was going to win between Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell at UFC 52.
Ortiz responded with,
"I hope Chuck takes it. That way I can kick Chuck's a--".
Ortiz then went on to call out Ken Shamrock by stating,
"I know that old man is in the house. If you care for another beating, Shamrock, step up."
"I'll make you remind yourself that I am Rick James and you are my b---h."
1. Chael Sonnen at UFC 136
5 of 5Every UFC fan across the globe knew it was just a matter of time until Chael Sonnen called out Anderson Silva following his victory over Brian Stann at UFC 136.
And, that's exactly what happened when Sonnen not only called out Silva, but challenged him to a rematch.
In his post-fight interview, Sonnen stated,
"Anderson Silva, you absolutely suck!"
Sonnen didn't stop there as he continued,
"Super Bowl weekend, the biggest rematch in the history of the business, I'm calling you out Silva, but we're upping the stakes.
"I beat you, you leave the division. You beat me, I will leave the UFC forever."
