TNA News: TNA Champion James Storm Suffers Concussion, out 6-8 Weeks
Newly crowned TNA world champion James Storm suffered a concussion last week, according to several sources, including cagesideseats.com.
The injury reportedly occurred in Macon, GA during television tapings for Impact Wrestling, which will air later this week.
Storm released the following statements via his Twitter account last night.
"Had a ct head scan and a MRI yesterday. Hate when doctors just come in and give you a look. Just tell me the bad news," Storm tweeted.
"Cowboy up!!! Confirmed.... Tv tapings in Macon the cowboy sustained a concussion. Doc says 6-8 weeks. But that's for a normal man," he wrote.
Hopefully, Storm will take the time he needs to completely heal.
This news is pretty sad considering he just landed the TNA/Impact Wrestling title. Who knows where TNA will go from here, especially considering its November pay-per-view Turning Point is less than two weeks away.
Ideally, Storm will continue to have some presence on TV as the champion.
However, if history has taught us anything, lengthy injuries lead to title forfeits or to management stripping the title.
Needless to say, the best we can hope for is that Storm drops the title, which leads to a mini-tournament. Then, Storm could challenge for the title at Victory Road, which would allow him a more than ample amount of time to heal.
Who would have thought Storm's catchphrase, "Sorry about your damn luck!" would pertain to him?
