Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups: Tim Tebow Is a Must-Add Despite Struggles
So maybe this Tim Tebow guy isn't so great after all. He may be 1-1 in his two starts, but he's played about as poorly as an NFL quarterback can possibly play.
This is true, and it's a problem that the Denver Broncos are going to have to deal with. Well, them and the legions of Tebow worshipers who are getting a serious reality check.
However, as bad as he has looked in the last two weeks, Tebow has actually done a pretty decent job from a fantasy perspective. The exact totals vary depending on how your league scores, but Tebow has racked up some solid fantasy points.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Against the Miami Dolphins, Tebow passed for 161 yards and two touchdowns, adding another 59 yards on the ground. Against the Detroit Lions, he passed for 172 yards and a touchdown, adding another 63 yards on the ground. Had he not thrown an interception and lost a fumble, he would have ended the day with great fantasy numbers.
As it was, NFL.com's Michael Fabiano pointed out that Tebow had a pretty good day:
Pretty good company, no doubt about that.
Despite this, my guess is that Tebow ownership is going to take a dive in fantasy leagues this week. People are going to abandon ship, which will more or less be a direct result of all the Tebow jokes.
You know, like this one:
Make no mistake, these jokes are going to keep coming, whether or not Tebow succeeds down the stretch this season.
Personally, my guess is that Tebow is not about to flip a switch and suddenly become Aaron Rodgers. He has serious issues to work out, and I honestly don't think he's ever going to be a capable NFL quarterback.
But for the time being, Tebow is a capable fantasy quarterback. He can generate points with his legs, and he's probably going to be good for at least one touchdown pass on a weekly basis. The only thing you have to worry about are turnovers, but that's true of any quarterback.
Besides, it's not like Tebow is going to be any worse than he was these last two weeks. To boot, John Fox sounds like he's committed to the Tebow experiment:
If he's right, this means Tebow is only going to get better. If he's wrong, Tebow will keep on as he's been keeping on.
For fantasy owners, that's not a bad thing.
