Jim Zorn's Ability Under Question Due to Redskins' Controversy and Poor Play
The midseason slump the Washington Redskins are in might make you think that the ex-Seahawks QB coach and now head coach Jim Zorn is out of his league.
The offensive numbers aren't pretty, quarterback Jason Campbell is always on his back. With the controversy surrounding the first year coach and his star running back, this old ball coach has his hands full.
It's a lot of pressure for a first year coach who wasn't expecting to be in this position when he came to Washington.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
At the start of the year, in the game against the Giants, Zorn looked lost, confused, or as some would say, out of his league.
Then Zorn pulled his team together with four straight wins until that hiccup called St. Louis. I wouldn't blame that on the first year coach—losses like that have been going on here for years before Zorn uttered the words "burgundy and black."
Two more wins against the suspect Browns and oh so sad Lions had the Redskins sitting in a nice place until the loss to Pittsburgh. This is when the injuries and lack of depth on the team really came into play, with three out of the next four games being against tough defenses and teams making a push for the playoffs.
Zorn got a lot of credit when things were going well. He was working with what he had to get things done, and people were buying into his quirky chant and cheers. The team had a good feeling about themselves.
A first year coach who puts his team in a position to make the playoffs never deserves to be fired. The Redskins organization needs to learn patience; it takes time for things to mesh on the field. The Redskins have a QB that (bless his heart) has had to learn many different systems throughout his playing career, rarely sticking with one for longer than one season.
Now if this were three years from now, I would go pack his bags for him. I know that frustration that comes along with being a Redskins fan, so with that I call on my fellow fans to give Zorn a chance. Let him work things out—and if he doesn't, meet me at my house and we'll run him out of town together.
The recent controversy with Clinton Portis will blow over, and things will get back to normal. It's all part of the game. This is why we watch...right?
