Why It's Time for Fantasy Football Owners to Rid Themselves of Chris Johnson
In the NFL realm of "How The Mighty Have Fallen,’’ there’s a new poster child.
Just about no one has fallen as far and as fast as Tennessee’s Chris Johnson.
Yes, the Colts won Sunday, 27-10. But the win came over Indianapolis, a team with the second worst rushing defense in the entire NFL.

And what did Johnson do? On what should have been an ideal time for him to emerge from his season-long doldrums, he came away with 34 yards on 14 carries, production of just 2.4 yards-per-carry.
It’s difficult to believe, but that’s worse than the 2.9 yards-per-game mark he’d brought into the game.
The season is almost half over, and it’s time for fantasy owners of Johnson to say, "Thanks, but no thanks." Let Johnson go and see what other running back is out there to be added.
The fact is that anybody who’s breathing is going to be as good as or better than Johnson, who just two years ago ran for 2,006 yards and last year had 1,364.
More than that, the Titans, who saw him score 25 touchdowns the last two years but just one this year, are, out of necessity, looking at other options.
While Johnson hasn’t gotten as many as 15 carries in any of Tennessee’s last three games, Javon Ringer got a season-best 14 carries, as many as Johnson, on Sunday against the Colts after having just gotten 21 on the season. And he almost doubled Johnson’s output by rushing for 60 yards.
