Manny Pacquiao: Pac-Man's Training Regimen Proves He Wants to Bury Marquez

Alex KayOct 31, 2011

It seems every time I hear about Manny Pacquiao training to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, the word "kill" is associated with it.

Earlier this month, the Pac-Man’s conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, told the Los Angeles Times that he feels Pacquiao is attempting to bulk up to the size he was against Miguel Cotto to fight a much smaller opponent.

He also mentioned that he thought Pacquiao “just wants to kill Marquez.”

Now, boxing adviser Michael Koncz is reiterating that last statement and confirming what we already believed to be true.

BoxingScene.com reports:

"

“He could have killed his sparring partners,” said Koncz to the Manila Bulletin. [Pacquiao] will put an exclamation point [on the win]. Manny has said that this fight will put an end to all the doubts and I do believe he will. He’s been early for morning roadwork and early for his afternoon workouts. [I've] never seen him this serious although I am not saying that he’s not during his previous training camps. I just saw changes in the way he trained for this fight with Marquez.”

"

Pacquiao must be going near insane as he prepares to fight Marquez and finally prove any doubters that remain that he is the best boxer on planet Earth.

Marquez angered Pacquiao greatly after the 2008 fight in which the Pac-Man won in a split-decision by a single point. He claimed that he deserved to win and that the fight was a farce. The two fought to a draw in their first bout, and this third fight is going to finally settle the score for good.

Pacquiao is now training hard enough to make sure there are no judges involved with the decision whatsoever. He wants to make sure he buries Marquez and squashes any doubts that people might have that he is not the better boxer.
