BCS Standings: Time to Stop Giving Credit to All the Teams Who Beat Texas A&M
When are people finally going to realize that Texas A&M just isn't very good?
After Missouri stopped the Aggies on a fourth-down play to secure a 38-31 overtime win, the announcer referred to the victory as a "signature win" for Missouri.
It was indeed a nice win for a Missouri program that was in desperate need of a big win. But in no ways should beating Texas A&M be considered a "signature win."
The Aggies are 5-3 on the year, which is certainly nothing to write home about. They were embarrassed in their Cotton Bowl loss to LSU at the end of last year, and their best win this season is against a Baylor team that is a one-man team that fails to play any defense.
Speaking of defense, this Texas A&M team sure doesn't appear to play any of it as well.
In their three losses this season, the Aggies have given up a combined 110 points. In fact, the most impressive thing about this team this season might be that they were able to hold Oklahoma State's offense to just 30 points.
A lot of people seemed to dish out credit to Arkansas after they had that come-from-behind win over Texas A&M back in Week 4. Well, this is the same Arkansas team that was trailing Vanderbilt for the majority of the game today, before they squeaked out a victory in the final minutes.
When Texas A&M beats a good team, then we can begin giving them credit. If the Aggies go into Oklahoma and beat the Sooners next week, then we can give them some well-deserved credit.
But until then, it's time to stop giving credit to this Texas A&M team, or any team that beats them for that matter.
