WWE: 7 Reasons SmackDown Needs a New GM
Are we finally tired of the same matches and the rhetoric that has been going on with Smackdown for months now?
Would we like to see some more creativity?
Would we like to see better drama?
Smackdown needs a new general manager.
Not Teddy Long. Not Vickie Guerrero. Not some BS computer that sounds like a voice from a really bad '80s science movie.
Someone real with real ideas and the ability to make matches that really matter.
If Teddy Long or whoever runs Smackdown would see the disarray in the brand (just like there is in Raw), then there is hope for growth.
Right now, there isn't that, and the fans suffer because of it.
7. Creative Storylines
1 of 7Mark Henry winning the World Title was great for wrestling as a whole.
But the need for more drama and better matches is evident.
This is something a new general manager would help oversee.
6. We Are Tired of Seeing the Same Guys Every Week
2 of 7Randy Orton is good. So is Henry, Big Show, etc.
But what about the others.
Teddy Long seems committed to only bringing out a handful of wrestlers and the others are left in the background.
5. It Could Lead to Some Interesting Feuds
3 of 7We thought we would see Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes go at it, but Rhodes seems to be the new heir apparent.
What happens to someone like Daniel Bryan or a Sheamus in the title picture?
Maybe Sheamus faces a newly energized Wade Barrett or someone they bring in.
There are more possibilities than just a few wrestlers hitting the mat every Friday.
4. A New GM Means a New Attitude
4 of 7Like Triple H on Raw or John "We don't care what your title is" Laurinaitis, the idea of someone new sparks new interest and a new attitude among the wrestlers.
It also means a new attitude among the fans.
This could be good for a brand that is in limbo in terms of popularity.
3. Maybe It Adds to More Cross-Brand Title Matches
5 of 7Like Mark Henry vs. CM Punk or Cody Rhodes vs, John Morrison.
The Supershows are taking care of that, but the GM would be more insightful over having someone at midcard level make a big leap.
2. It Could Lead to a Better Developed Tag Team Division
6 of 7More tag matches means more wrestlers to showcase.
This means ratings.
This means a better reaction from the crowds and more people in the seats.
1. With All the Changes That Are Going on with Raw, It Just Makes Sense
7 of 7Teddy Long is not accomplishing much by showing his face every week on Fridays.
Maybe someone else will engage the crowds more.
Long is a slick-talking guy who has wrestling knowledge as a manager and referee, but a real GM who can make matches and make them means something makes more sense.
If Raw is changing its GM, should Smackdown?
