NFL Week 8 Predictions: Jimmy Graham and 4 Stars Who Will Keep Rolling

John RozumOct 24, 2011

Week 7 of the 2011 NFL season was a very telling week as to whether certain players were able to keep their own momentum rolling.

This week was also telling for their respective teams, who learned whether or not they could respond after a loss or keep winning altogether.

In any event, here are four stars from Week 7 who will roll again in Week 8.

Jimmy Graham: TE, New Orleans (at St. Louis)

Heading into the 2011 NFL season, we knew that Drew Brees was going to have another great season. However, TE Jimmy Graham immediately came on the scene in Week 1 against the Packers.

He's been dominating since, and has been Brees' best and most reliable target. This week will be no different as the Saints play former NFC West rival St. Louis on the road. The Rams are vehemently weak all around, and Graham will get the best of them—like he has all other defenses this season.

New Orleans is too versatile, and St. Louis is about a thousand steps behind stopping anything The Big Easy calls.

Prediction: Seven catches, 85 yards, one TD

Arian Foster: RB, Houston (vs. Jacksonville)

After the first couple weeks of the season, Texans RB Arian Foster had one-hit wonder written all over him.

Needless to say, Foster went off the next two weeks against Pittsburgh and Oakland, averaging 151 total yards in both games.

Thereafter he combined for over another 100 against Baltimore, and practically beat the Tennessee Titans by himself. Week 8 puts Foster against Jacksonville, who although possesses a respectable defense won't have anything on the dual-threat RB.

Not to mention that QB Matt Schaub has played virtually flawlessly without WR Andre Johnson, so the passing game will take pressure off the ground game.

Prediction: 160 total yards, two TDs

Adrian Peterson: RB, Minnesota (at Carolina)

Despite the Vikings' lack of pass offense, RB Adrian Peterson still manages to plow through defenses like the Brahma Bull that he is. On the year, Peterson is averaging just over 101 yards per game and has scored eight TDs.

The Carolina Panthers may be aware of this, but their No. 29-ranked rush defense has no chance against arguably the NFL's best RB.

Plus, with QB Christian Ponder displaying that he can in fact launch the rock around, Carolina won't be putting eight in the box nearly as much as they should.

Prediction: 200 total yards, three TDs

DeMarco Murray: RB, Dallas (at Philadelphia)

Sure—it was against the St. Louis Rams, but for any rookie RB to gain over 200 rushing yards in one game is pretty remarkable.

Let's just say the Cowboys got a great steal with this pick in round three, because DeMarco Murray is the real deal. He's Dallas's best option at the RB position and provides the rushing, receiving and blocking threat all offenses need.

Now you can bet on rival Philadelphia being much better prepared than the Rams, but they still have a very susceptible rush defense, and Dallas is getting healthier each week.

Therefore, don't expect Philly to stack the box, because the Cowboys' pass offense is going to be banging on all cylinders regardless.

Prediction: 150 total yards, one TD
