NFL Predictions Week 7: Rams, Falcons and Other Upsets Waiting To Happen
Week 7 of the 2011 NFL season is going to be looked back on as the weekend of blowouts and upsets.
That may seem like a very bold claim, but if you take a look at the schedule it makes perfect sense.
This week is littered with two kinds of matchups. Either it's an elite team going against one of the bottom feeders, or two middle of the pack and desperate teams going at it.

In my opinion that is just a recipe for upset disaster.
Either one of the favorites is bound to slip up, or one of the lesser of the mediocre teams will step up and prove that they deserve to be thought of a little bit higher.
Here are a few upsets waiting to happen in Week 7:
I just can't shake this feeling that the Rams are primed to upset the Dallas Cowboys. It just makes sense when looking at the Cowboys' season. Tony Romo has been more inconsistent than good, and his interception total this season goes a long way towards proving that.
On the other side the Rams just acquired Brandon Lloyd to catch passes from Sam Bradford, and I think that will rejuvenate this offense enough to pull off quite an upset win on the road.
Note: Bradford has been ruled out of this game due to injury. I will stay with my pick if only because Steven Jackson is running the ball, and Tony Romo is on the other side.
There was a time when the Falcons beating Detroit wouldn't be an upset no matter where the game was played. The spread has the Lions as a favorite by three and a hook, and I would assume that's mostly because of the home-field advantage.
The Lions cannot stop the run though, and I expect the Falcons are going to use Michael Turner ad nauseam. It's been a hard week in Detroit and they've lost all their momentum. I think the Falcons are primed to take this game.
The Jets are one point favorites at home going against the Chargers, which isn't necessarily a vote of confidence for Rex Ryan's squad.
Even though they looked good last week I'm having a very hard time believing in the Jets as a legitimate playoff team. I think the Chargers will expose them at home and get after Mark Sanchez.
