Week 7 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Arian Foster and RBs You Must Start

T.J. McaloonOct 21, 2011

After the quarterback position, the most important position on your fantasy football team is running back. If you are relying on starting running backs that are filling in for injured starters or people that are sharing time to win you games, then you have some problems on your team.

However, if you did draft well and you did get two quality running backs to start every week, then kudos to you and your more-than-likely successful team.

These three players will lead you to a very important Week 7 victory.

Arian Foster, Houston Texans

Foster has underperformed this year for his fantasy owners who drafted him in the first round. He has been hurt during the beginning of this season, but in two of the last three weeks he has had performances like he did last year, when he was the NFL's leading fantasy running back.

This week, the Texans are still without WR Andre Johnson, so the offense will go through Foster.

The Texans play the Tennessee Titans, a team against whom Foster not only had good rushing days last year, but also 15 catches in those two games.

Start Foster this week and expect to see him put up huge numbers for your team.

Projected Stats: 20 Carries, 125 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 5 Receptions, 55 Yards

Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders

This week the Raiders made huge news by adding former Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer. They will start Palmer with only three to four days of practice.

That means for fantasy owners, the offense will be very basic and will be a run-first offense.

McFadden owners should expect a large number of carries against a Kansas City Chiefs that he averaged over five yards per carry against last year. In the last four games, the Chiefs are giving up the seventh most fantasy points per game against running backs.

Projected Stats: 30 Carries, 195 Yards, 3 Touchdowns

Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens

Rice has been as solid of a fantasy football running back as any other in the NFL. Every week Rice has scored 15 or more points, and this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars he will have another huge day.

Last week the Jaguars gave up huge fantasy numbers to Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall, who was coming into the game not having gained over 100 yards in any of his first four games.

Projected Stats: 22 Carries, 145 yards, 2 Touchdowns, 4 Receptions, 62 Yards, 1 Touchdown

If you have these three running backs, you must start them on your roster. If one happens to be on your bench right now, you must take them off the bench and insert them in your line up.
