Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres are one of the main reasons their teams, club and international, are so dominant and competitive. Both have an eagle eye for goal, tremendous speed and power, and immense skill.

Both are easily one of the best strikers in the world and both strike fear into defences and keepers.
But whom would you pick?
Wayne Mark Rooney
Began playing professionally at the tender age of 16 for his childhood club Everton FC and he immediately made his mark scoring against Arsenal just before his 17th birthday and from then on everybody in the footballing world knew this boy was special.
Wayne Rooney was solid for Everton playing 67 games and scoring a handy 15 goals, but a player with his talent should be looking for bigger and better things and at the end of 2003-04 Everton failed to make the Champions League.
Wayne Rooney needed a better club and it came when he was signed for a whooping £31 million by giants Manchester United.
Wayne Rooney was now playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and he immediately showed his worth with a stunning hat-trick against Fenerbahce. Rooney has now turned the Manchester attack into an even bigger threat as his amazing pace off and on the ball, his powerful shot, and phenomenal strength plus his aggression causes so much havoc in defences and his footballing brain makes Manchester easily the most threatening team in the world.
Since moving to Manchester Rooney has won a stack for awards including the Champions League, Premier League, and the League Cup. Rooney has also greatly contributed greatly to England scoring many stunning goals and making them one of the most dominant footballing countries.
He is the second youngster player to represent England after Theo Walcott. Rooney recently scored his 100th career goal, which is only the start of how far the amazing 23-year-old youngster can go.
But it is not all good with the feisty Englishman, his aggression can lift or break his team. Rooney's aggression can easily get the better of him as can his attitude, on many occasions Rooney has used dissent towards referees and used unsporting behaviour like elbowing towards other players.
The last thing you want as a manager is your star striker suspended.
Rooney is easily one of the strongest players on the planet and his shot selection is of the highest class, his ability with ball is one of the biggest threats of his game as is his amazing speed.
A manager's dream.
Fernando José Torres Sanz
Blessed with speed which is like a hot knife through butter on defences, and a shot which can curl, loop and go at hundred miles per hour—it is none other than Fernando Torres.
Fernando Torres made his debut for Atletico Madrid at the age of 17 in 2001, this was when one of the most dominant teams in the La Liga now was in the Liga BBVA. But Atletico earned a place back in the La Liga in 2002. It was not Torres' best performance for the club but some handy goals did do good.
His first season in La Liga was a solid one, scoring 12 goals which helped keep Atletico away from relegation.
As he got matured with experience he soon became a star striker netting 19 times in his second season at the top level, he was top scorer that year and due to his fantastic ability and leadership he was named Atletico's captain at the tender age of 19.
Torres carried Atletico and turned them into a truly dominant side but their inability to win trophies meant Torres sought better teams and all of the English "Big Four" immediately put their hands up for the star striker.
Liverpool won out, buying the striker for £20m in 2007. It was hard for Atletico with their superb captain and top scorer leaving after playing over 200 games and scoring almost 100 goals.
Torres showed his talent straight away scoring his first goal in his first home game. Torres was easily Liverpool's best player in 2007-08, scoring numerous hat-tricks and 29 goals in all competitions, most of them absolute stunners.
He finished 3rd on the EPL top scorers list, just behind Emmanuel Adebayor and Ronaldo.
Torres then played a huge role in Spain's Euro success and scored the winner in the final and was named in the team of the tournament.
A superb player with superb skill and speed, he is not as strong as Rooney but his attitude is a yard better than Rooney's.
Both extraordinary players with so much ability and both are still young; whom would you pick?
