Chargers vs. Jets: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More
After three losses in a row, the 3-3 New York Jets got back on track last week against the New York Jets and will host the 4-1 San Diego Chargers this weekend in search of a second consecutive victory.
The Jets are coming off two straight AFC Championship Game appearances, but they seem like a much different team this season. The Jets have struggled to both run the ball and stop the run and have turned into more of a finesse passing team which simply doesn't suit them.
San Diego started off slow last year and failed to come back, missing the postseason. The Chargers seem determined not to allow that to happen again this year, though, as their 4-1 start attests to. Outside of New England, however, they have yet to face a test as stiff as the Jets.

What's at Stake?
At 4-1 the Chargers currently sit atop the AFC West, but are certainly in a dog fight with the 4-2 Oakland Raiders. With the Raiders having traded for quarterback Carson Palmer, they seem to be on the upswing, so every win is absolutely vital for the Chargers.
The Jets were on a three-game slide prior to defeating the Miami Dolphins last week, and have now stabilized their record at 3-3. Still, the Jets are two games behind New England in the AFC East and one game behind the Buffalo Bills. The Jets aren't the surefire playoff team that everybody thought they would be, so they need to stand tall and get a signature win.

What They're Saying
Despite the fact that the Jets have struggled to a 3-3 record and the Chargers are a solid 4-1, Jets head coach Rex Ryan scoffed at the notion that his team was a two-point underdog on home field, according to Filip Bondy of the New York Daily News.
"Seems kind of odd to me," he (Ryan) said Tuesday.
"We can beat a good team," Ryan said Tuesday. "This is a critical game for us, and we're approaching it that way. We have to win this one."
Chargers Player to Watch: QB Philip Rivers
San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has been just barely on the outside looking into the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks. He has failed to live up to that this season, however, as his touchdowns to interceptions ratio is just 6:7.
He will have a very tough matchup this weekend against a Jets' secondary that features All-Pro corner Darrelle Revis, as well as several other high-caliber defensive backs. Tight end Antonio Gates may return, and even if he isn't completely healthy, it will help Rivers immensely as he tries to get back on track.
Jets Player to Watch: RB Shonn Greene
Over the past few weeks, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has insisted that his team would get back to a "ground and pound" style of play. I assumed that meant that they would run the ball more effectively, but that hasn't really been the case so far.
Running back Shonn Greene got a little something going late against Miami when the Jets were trying to close out the game though, so it will be interesting to see if he can carry that into this weekend. The Jets can't get by solely on the arm of Mark Sanchez, so Greene needs to start playing to his potential.
Key Matchup: WR Vincent Jackson vs. CB Darrelle Revis
In spite of quarterback Philip Rivers' struggles, wide receiver Vincent Jackson has been excellent this season as evidenced by his 408 receiving yards through just five games. With Antonio Gates hobbled, Jackson has been the main source of offense for San Diego.
He will have some tough sledding this week, however, against Jets shutdown corner Darrelle Revis. Few receivers are successful when put on "Revis Island" so Jackson has a major challenge ahead of him. Miami's Brandon Marshall did go for over a 100 yards while dropping a couple potential touchdowns last week, though, so it is possible to get the best of him.
On the Hot Seat: OC Brian Schottenheimer
While I don't think he will get immediately canned if the Jets have another poor offensive performance, Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has taken a lot of heat for the Jets' recent offensive failures. One notable player who complained about his play-calling was wide receiver Derrick Mason who has since been traded to the Houston Texans.
Wide receiver Santonio Holmes has also publicly criticized the offensive line for poor play, but you have to wonder if Schottenheimer is putting them in a position to fail by passing too much. Schottenheimer could really use an excellent offensive performance to reestablish himself this week.
