Shonn Greene Video: Watch Greene Monster Rumble Through Referee on MNF
Shonn Greene isn’t having a great year.
He is averaging 3.4 yards per carry as the Jets’ feature back and has only scored two touchdowns in six games.
However, there is no reason he should be taking his frustration out on an NFL official, which he seemingly did on Monday night in the game against the Miami Dolphins.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With a little over four minutes left in the fourth quarter and the game seemingly out of reach, Greene exploded through a hole on 3rd-and-5.
Waiting for him in broad daylight on the other side was the umpire, who was watching the play from his position behind the defensive line.
Instead of avoiding him, Greene decided to use his hands to shove the man over and scamper for a few extra yards.
Just because Greene hasn’t been trucking any linebackers this season doesn’t mean he should be trying to impress the coaches by knocking down an umpire.
Now, this isn’t all Greene’s fault—he may just not be used to pounding the rock late in the game, since the Jets are usually behind.
With the new NFL rule changes this season, the umpire hangs in the back behind the offense for the first 55 minutes of a game.
In the last five, he moves to the traditional spot behind the defense to set the ball more efficiently for teams running hurry-ups and trying to get back into games quickly.
This was only the second game that the Jets had a large lead in late this season, the other going back to Week 2 against the Luke McCown-under-center Jacksonville Jaguars.
So I guess it's quite understandable for Greene not to be expecting an umpire to be there, with the Jets often having to throw the ball to even think about getting back into games this season.
He still didn’t have to hit him like that.
