BCS Week 8: Wisconsin vs. Michigan State Among Key Top 25 Matchups
The BCS Rankings were announced for the first time in 2011 and Week 8 features three matchups between two Top 25 BCS teams.
Here's a quick look at the three important contests.
Wisconsin at Michigan State
The Spartans, who are ranked 16th in the BCS, are coming into this one off a huge win over rival Michigan.
Wisconsin, on the other hand, is coming into this one with absolute dominating wins over every team they have played.
The Badgers are averaging just over 50 points per game which is best in the nation and the Spartans will have a tough time containing Russell Wilson and company.
Still, Wisconsin was ranked fourth in both the AP and Coaches Poll, so they could have a chip on their shoulder as they come in at just No. 6 in the BCS.
Washington at Stanford
This has all the makings of a high-scoring battle.
The Huskies, who slipped into the BCS rankings at No. 25 with impressive recent wins over Utah and Colorado, have a high-powered offense that no one has really been able to stop, even Nebraska.
Stanford has been extremely good on the defensive side of the ball, allowing just 11.2 points per game, but they haven't faced an offense like Washington's.
Keith Price and Chris Polk should be able to consistently move the ball down the field.
On the other side of the ball, however, Washington has been average at best on defense. Andrew Luck and No. 8 Stanford should have no trouble moving the ball at home.
Auburn at LSU
The Tigers of Auburn have been fairly inconsistent in their route to a 5-2 record, but they have benefited from playing in the SEC as they are ranked No. 20 in the BCS.
They'll have their hands full in this one, however, as they match up with the Tigers of LSU who are No. 1 in the BCS.
You have to imagine LSU will roll in this one as they've been better in every aspect of the game and they have the advantage of playing at home. But hey, that's why they play the game, right?
