NFL Trade Rumors: Brandon Lloyd, Carson Palmer and the Latest Buzz
The 2011 NFL trade deadline is literally days away, which means that the speculation and rumors surrounding players like Brandon Lloyd and Carson Palmer is going to start getting even more intense.
Unlike all the other major sports, the NFL trade deadline is arguably the least active. It's rare to see big name players get traded, but that being said, it does happen.
If you want to know all the inside scoop on Brandon Lloyd, Carson Palmer and the latest trade buzz surrounding those two you have come to the right place.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Brandon Lloyd
All the rumors and speculation surrounding Lloyd started when Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported that the Broncos were interested in trading their star wide receiver.
With a depth chart stacked with capable wideouts and Lloyd on the final year of his contract, the trade speculation made a ton of sense.
Here is part of Klis' story:
"With the NFL trade deadline looming, the Broncos have been in talks with other teams regarding Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd, according to three NFL sources.
The Broncos are believed to be seeking anywhere from a third- to fifth- round draft pick in return. There have been "three or four" teams who have expressed interest in Lloyd, according to a source, with Carolina and Tennessee among them.
The NFL trading deadline is Tuesday. Once that deadline passes, a team cannot trade a player under contract until the 2012 offseason opens in March.
"
The two most interesting teams in the picture were the Panthers and Titans, both who could really use another wideout.
Later that day the Panthers took themselves out of the running though, via their official Twitter:
Another round of speculation came from ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando:
""The need is obvious and the fit would seemingly be right with Lloyd's former head coach in Denver, Josh McDaniels, now running the Rams' offense. Danny Amendola is out for the season and the Rams lead the league in drops with 12 despite already having their bye week. Lloyd has dropped only one pass in 32 targets this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. He flourished under McDaniels."
"
Finally, Michael Lombardi of the NFL network came out yesterday and speculated that there is about a 90 percent chance that Lloyd would be traded. Here is what Lombardi said via NFL.com:
"NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi checked in on “Around the League” Friday to discuss the possible destinations for the Pro Bowler, listing the Titans, Rams … and the Panthers … as possible options. Lombardi estimates there’s a 90 percent chance Lloyd is traded.
“They have to shop Lloyd,” offered Lombardi. “Lloyd doesn’t have (his) contracted extended after his season. So if they don’t trade him now, they’ll get nothing but a compensatory pick for him. What I find humorous is they have said they will take a third-, fourth- or fifth-round pick. If I was a GM, why would I offer anything but a sixth-round pick for him since they put out the price? I really believe Lloyd will be traded by Tuesday of next week.”

Carson Palmer
A few weeks ago the Carson Palmer trade-rumor mill started kicking out speculation again after seemingly months of dying down. Palmer had chosen retirement over playing for the Bengals, and the organization refused to budge and trade him away.
The Bengals stance on trading Palmer was speculated to be changing though. Here is what Tim Kavanagh of ESPN Insider reported on the potential rumors:
"However, on Sunday, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the Bengals may be softening their stance, but that a trade would only happen at a time that they see fit.
In response to this development, Peter King of Sports Illustrated offered his take that the Miami Dolphins would be his best guess. The Dolphins, along with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, reportedly inquired about acquiring the former No. 1 overall pick earlier this offseason, but were rebuffed.
"
Those rumors died, but then picked up again with a report from Steve Wyche of NFL.com citing Bengals owner Mike Brown:
"Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown declined comment Tuesday about if the team planned to trade quarterback Carson Palmer before next week's NFL deadline.
"I don't have a thing to say about that," Brown said while attending the NFL Fall Meeting, adding that he doesn't like to comment on football matters.
"
Through all the speculation, the potential trading partners and all the hypothetical situations, John Clayton of ESPN came out with a rather definitive tweet that essentially closed the case in my opinion.
So there you have it; all the latest news regarding Brandon Lloyd and Carson Palmer.
