NFL Trade Deadline News: The Latest Buzz Around the NFL
While the NFL is unlike other professional sports leagues, in that there usually isn't a flurry of activity in the days leading up to the trade deadline, a few whispers are emerging about potential trades.
One player whose name has become synonymous with trade rumors is Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer.
Bengals owner Mike Brown has repeatedly said that he is unwilling to deal Palmer to another team, preferring instead that the quarterback either sits out for the remainder of his contract or goes through with his threats of retirement.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
However, the chatter has recently increased regarding trading him to the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN Insider's Rumor Central.
Starting Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has underwhelmed so far this season, and now his status for Week 7's game against the Cleveland Browns is up in the air after injuring his pectoral muscle in Week 5.
The team is on their bye week this week, giving them time to determine whether backup Charlie Whitehurst is the best replacement.
If they don't think so, they could make a play for Palmer before Tuesday's deadline, but the odds are certainly against Brown approving any trade of Palmer, no matter the value. The rumor, first suggested by NFL.com's Gil Brandt, would have Palmer sent to Seattle in trade for wide receiver Doug Baldwin and draft picks—which makes sense.
But, if there's one thing evident from the saga of Palmer and Brown in Cincinnati it's that what makes sense is usually the first casualty of the two sides' stubbornness about this issue. While the move would benefit both the Seahawks and Bengals, it's unlikely to happen.
Another trade that Brandt proposes is for the Miami Dolphins to send linebacker Jason Taylor to the Houston Texans, with a late-round draft pick received in return. The Texans lost starter Mario Williams for the year after tearing his pectoral muscle, and are relying on rookie linebacker Brooks Reed as his replacement.
However, they might prefer having a veteran available to the team should Reed not perform well, and Taylor could be a great option. He can be had for a small price and the Dolphins are certainly yet again in a rebuilding mode, and any additional draft picks they can get would help in that cause.
Again, trades should be few as we head toward Tuesday's deadline. Teams struggled to make deals when cutting their rosters down to 53 men at the end of the preseason, and while many teams have glaring needs, they likely won't try to trade to fill the majority of them.
With that said, there are still likely a few surprises ahead with the deadline looming. Whether or not those involve Palmer or Taylor is yet to be seen, but there's certainly a good case for both moves.
