Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6: Doug Baldwin and 4 Players to Add

John RozumOct 13, 2011

Adding depth to your fantasy team is crucial if you want to make it the playoffs and/or deep into the postseason.

Luckily there are some stud players who could definitely help if you pick them up before someone else does.

So, here are four players to add this week.

Doug Baldwin: WR, Seattle

He leads the Seahawks in every receiving category, and if he's not picked up in your league, Doug Baldwin will be by the time you finish reading this article.

With every team in fantasy football starting at least two WRs, some three, there's bound to be a few duds.

However, preventing those duds from keeping you down is where a player like Baldwin can help.

He may only have two TDs on the year, but Baldwin has totaled 330 yards on 20 receptions.

The Seahawks clearly still need some work on offense; however, it's all beginning to come together and with Doug Baldwin the center of attention, you can get some serious fantasy points from this underrated rookie WR.

Andy Dalton: QB, Cincinnati

By now Cam Newton, Alex Smith and maybe even Jason Campbell are no longer available in your league.

However, Cincinnati's Andy Dalton could be, and he's not a bad pickup since two of his receiving targets are fellow rookie WR A.J. Green and TE Jermaine Gresham.

You can expect fade routes/posts to Green and crossing patterns as well as skinny posts from Gresham.

Either way, as long as Dalton puts the ball in arms' length radius of these guys, there's a good chance the pass will be complete.

Andy Dalton's only going to get better, and the Bengals' top 10 defense takes quite a bit of pressure off the rookie.

Rex Grossman: QB, Washington

Only start him if you absolutely have to, but nonetheless, having Grossman as a backup could turn out to be extremely beneficial.

He obviously plays better at home than away, but as long as the Redskins defense keeps dominating and their run game remains established, that will allow Rex to play within himself and be effective.

There have been many times where he's shown signs of brilliance as well as absolute ineptitude, but this season Grossman is being held back by head coach Mike Shanahan because the man knows how to use a QB.

It wasn't until Shanahan was hired in Denver that the legendary QB John Elway finally got a Super Bowl ring, so although he has his work cutout for him with Rex, it's clear that Grossman has been improving at being more consistent.

Ed Dickson: TE, Baltimore

One of the more unknown TEs in the game, and very much so since Todd Heap left Baltimore, but Ed Dickson leads the Ravens in targets (32).

QB Joe Flacco knows that Dickson is a reliable outlet, but he's goes overlooked due to the Ravens' weapons such as RB Ray Rice, WR Lee Evans, and WR Anquan Boldin.

He's not going to get you Tony Gonzalez or Jason Witten-esque numbers, but whenever your starter has to sit via bye/injury/underperforming or whatever, Dickson can be a solid contributor to help keep the pace rolling.

Watch out for him this week especially, because the Texans are without LB Mario Williams.
