Fantasy Football Week 14 Rankings: Wide Receivers

Michael WhooleyDec 3, 2008

Led by the play of Randy Moss last season, wide receivers held their own against their running back counterparts in the world of fantasy football. This year, things haven't been so balanced. As of this moment, just four wide receivers rank in the top 20 in fantasy points among wide receivers and running backs. Only one of those four cracks the top 10, with Anquan Boldin sitting in spot No. 10 tied with Brian Westbrook. Still, while they may be producing less than running backs, you know full well that every point matters, especially now, during your fantasy playoffs.

Thus, to ensure you have the most productive wide receivers in your line-up, read through the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 14 Wide Receiver Rankings.

1. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) vs. St. Louis

For the first time in six weeks, Fitzgerald was finally able to top teammate Anquan Boldin, racking up 18 fantasy points on 65 yards and two scores against the Eagles, while Boldin mustered just four fantasy points. Look for Fitz to get the better of Boldin again this week against the Rams. In his last three games against St. Louis, Fitz has totaled 388 receiving yards and three TDs. Another bonus about Fitz this week, he'll be playing in Arizona, thereby avoiding the winter storms we saw wreak havoc in week 13.
Point Projection: 19 points

2. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) @ Seattle

The Bruno Boys advised you to sit Matt Cassel in week 13 due to the tough match-up with the Steelers, and with Cassel only totaling 169 passing yards, while turning the ball over four times and not completing a TD pass, the advice was sound. Cassel's low totals directly effected Moss, who followed up his 30 point week 12 performance with just four points in week 13. Look for both Cassel and Moss to rebound in week 14 as the Pats will face the worst pass defense in the league in the Seattle Seahawks.
Point Projection: 18 points

3. Anquan Boldin (Arizona Cardinals) vs. St. Louis

Boldin's four points in week 13 were his lowest of the season as it was just a bad game all around for the Cardinal's wide receiver as he dropped a potential TD pass and also fumbled the ball away. But, mark our words, Boldin will bounce back in week 14 against a Rams, a team he burned for 85 yards and a TD in their previous match-up this season.
Point Projection: 17 points

4. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) @ New Orleans

He didn't get into the endzone in week 13, but White still took advantage of his match-up with the porous pass defense of the San Diego Chargers by racking up 112 receiving yards, further cementing his spot as a top wide receiver option. White faces another favorable match-up in week 14 as he heads to Louisiana to take on the New Orleans Saints. White should have no problem at least duplicating the 68 yards and TD he put up against the Saints in week 10, but we expect him to do even better this time around.
Point Projection: 17 points

5. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) vs. Houston

With a TD and 12+ fantasy points in each of his last three games, Jennings seems to be in the midst of a streak similar to the one he put up in 2007. The streak should continue this weekend against a Houston Texans team that has allowed 18 passing TDs on the year. Make sure Jennings is in your line-up, especially since this one will be played in the weather friendly confines of Reliant Stadium.
Point Projection: 17 points

------------------------

6. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) vs. Cincinnati

Weather ruined what was a promising match-up in week 13 with the Cleveland Browns, leaving Wayne with a measly four fantasy points. The good news is that weather won't be effecting this week's battle with the Bengals as the game will be played in Lucas Oil Stadium rather than in the state of Ohio. Look for Wayne to get his first double digit day since week 10 against a Bengals defense that ranks 20th in the league and has allowed 18 passing TDs on the year.
Point Projection: 16 points

------------------------

7. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) vs. Minnesota

Megatron didn't quite have the Thanksgiving he envisioned, totaling just 66 yards on the day. The outing was solid but not spectacular, which is what Johnson's fantasy owners have come to expect. Spectacular is what's on the agenda for this week as Johnson matches up with a Vikings team that he has already toasted for 85 yards and a TD this season. Expect a similar showing here.
Point Projection: 14 points
