NFL Week 6 Waiver Wire: Early Doucet and 3 WR Pickups for Deep Leagues

Tim KeeneyOct 11, 2011

By now you've read everything you can on guys like Darrius Heyward-Bey, Doug Baldwin and Victor Cruz.

While all three of those guys are good waiver wire pickups for Week 6, here are three guys at WR—who aren't being talked about—that you should keep your eye on.

Early Doucet (9.8 Percent Owned)

The Arizona Cardinals No. 2 wide receiver put up over 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 which had fantasy owners fighting over the speedy receiver out of LSU.

However, in the following three weeks he disappointed with games of two, five and four points (ESPN standard leagues).

Quarterback Kevin Kolb got reacquainted with Doucet this week against Minnesota, targeting him 16 times for eight receptions and 92 yards.

With Larry Fitzgerald commonly seeing double-teams on the other side of the field, Doucet should continue to get lots of action in single coverage.

Expect Week 5's performance to be more of the norm for Doucet. He should constantly come up with around six catches per game and his speed means he has the ability to take any of those to the house.

Damien Williams (0.0 Percent Owned)

The second-year receiver from USC has hardly made any noise in his young career, but he'll have the opportunity to shine as he now looks cemented in the No. 2 spot across from Nate Washington.

Many thought it would be Washington who would benefit from the injury to Kenny Britt, but Williams got 11 targets in Week 5 to Washington's eight.

Williams also found the end zone en route to a nice day.

If you need receiving depth, pick up Williams and see if he continues to be involved in this offense. It's highly likely since there aren't a whole lot of other weapons on the Titans.

Ben Obomanu (0.0 Percent Owned)

Doug Baldwin is the Seahawk WR getting all the attention, but Obomanu shouldn't be ignored.

The six-year veteran out of Auburn was a big part of Seattle's offense last year with Charlie Whitehurst, and if Tarvaris Jackson's injury is serious, Clipboard Jesus will be the starting QB.

He'll likely find that Obomanu is his most comfortable target and will go to him often. Obomanu had 10 targets in Week 5 that resulted in six catches. He also reached the end zone for the second straight week.

He'll get plenty of action, he's on an offense that will likely play from behind a lot and he'll come cheap.

Don't be afraid to vote for "Obama-nu."
