Michigan vs. Northwestern: Will Turnovers and Bad Defense Derail Wolverines?
Northwestern is doing some serious upset hunting against unbeaten No. 12 Michigan. They take a 24-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Their hometown fans are loving it and they will be loud and excited in the second half as they try to cheer them onto victory.
Just 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Big Ten, this would be a huge win for Northwestern.
What's Gone Wrong?
Denard Robinson's throws
Robinson has chucked three first half INTs. That is too much for any team to overcome.
Michigan's defense is also not helping bail them out; they are getting abused. Northwestern gained 297 first half yards
What's At Stake?
A spot in the top 15 and possibly any chance at the Big Ten title
This will also be a costly loss in the Big Ten race. The Wolverines do not play Wisconsin this year, and there is the very real possibility that they will not lose a game.
How Will Voters React?
Not well
Michigan will plummet down the rankings if they lose this game. Voters will not only be discouraged by Denard Robinson's inability to throw an accurate pass, but by this horrible display of defense.
They will definitely slide out of the top 15, and maybe right out of the top 25.
Upset Potential (on a scale of 1-10)
The way Michigan is playing defense they are going to have a hard time coming back. They have shown that they can move the ball, and if they stop turning it over they should put up some points, but that is not going to matter if they don't stop Northwestern.
There is nothing to suggest that they can stop Northwestern in the second half.
Who will win this game?
Northwestern 38-31
