Chicago Bears Insider: Rechecking Bears Season Predictions
We are just four games into the new season, and the Bears sit with a record of 2-2 and have looked less than stellar in their last three games. The team has some serious issues on both sides of the ball and need to take care of those issues quickly if they want to win games and get into the playoffs.
Taking into account what has happened so far this season, let’s take a look at how the Bears schedule may shake out now that they have gone through the first quarter of the season.
Oct. 10: At Detroit
1 of 12The Lions are looking very good right now and could end up beating the Bears in this first game against one another this season. This game is on Monday night and is one of the first Monday night games in Detroit in a long time. The Lions offense is looking good, and their defense is strong and could give the Bears problems. If the Bears don’t’ have their offense put together by the time that these two teams meet, they are going to lose this game.
The Lions will be ready for this game and will be too much for the Bears to handle.
Prediction:
Detroit 23 Chicago 17
Record: 2-3
Oct. 16: Vs. Minnesota
2 of 12The Vikings haven’t been looking like a good team so far this season and have a lot of work to do to get back to respectability. The Bears are the better team, but will they be able to win this game? Will their offense still suffer from the problems it has been experiencing recently, or will they have finally put things together?
This game will be a good one and a close one. If the Bears limit their mistakes and have their offense in order, they should win this game.
Prediction:
Chicago 28 Minnesota 21
Record: 3-3
Oct. 23: At Tampa Bay (London)
3 of 12The Bears will head overseas to London to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs were hoping to build upon what they were able to do last year, but they haven’t started the season off well by any means, so this game should be one that the Bears can win. One good thing that could go in favor of the Bears is that they have a large fanbase in England, so the crowd will be cheering for the Bears giving them an advantage.
The Bears will win this game and come back home victorious.
Prediction:
Chicago 21 Tampa Bay 13
Record: 4-3
Nov. 7: At Philadelphia
4 of 12The Eagles were thought to the best team in the NFL heading into the season. but they have fallen on hard times and have proven themselves very beatable. If the Bears are playing strong by this time, they have an excellent chance of beating the Eagles and can at the least keep on salvaging their season. If Michael Vick is playing strong and the Eagles are finally on a roll, the Bears will probably lose this game.
It’s going to be a close one, but the Eagles may just nip the Bears in this game, setting them back in their hunt for the playoffs.
Prediction:
Philadelphia 24 Chicago 17
Record: 4-4
Nov. 13: Vs. Detroit
5 of 12The Lions will head to Chicago for the second meeting between these two teams this year. Chicago will have an advantage playing at home, and if the weather is rough, that will give them even more of a chance to win this game. The Lions have been playing some good football, but at this point in the season, there will have surely been some injuries that could keep them from winning this game.
The Bears and the Lions will each win a game in their two game series this year, and the Bears will win this one at home.
Prediction:
Chicago 28 Detroit 17
Record: 5-4
Nov. 20: Vs. San Diego
6 of 12The Chargers have started off the seaon well, but who knows how they will be playing once they get to Soldier Field in later November. San Diego is a good team, but this team tends to take weeks off during the season, and hopefully, the Bears will be playing them when they are on one of their off weeks. This is going to be a good game played in some cooler weather, which may effect how the Chargers play.
The Bears will win this game and continue to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Prediction:
Chicago 21 San Diego 13
Record: 6-4
Nov. 27: At Oakland
7 of 12The Bears will head out to the warm west coast to take on the Raiders who, at this time, aren’t playing bad football. This will be the second non-conference game for the Bears, and each win at this time of the year will be very important. The Bears can beat the Raiders and keep things going as they drive towards the playoffs, but will they be able to actually beat the Raiders?
Playing Oakland, despite the fact the Raiders sometimes have a hard time winning games, is always tough, and this will be a tough matchup. But in the end, the Bears will win.
Prediction:
Chicago 27 Oakland 17
Record: 7-4
Dec. 4: Vs. Kansas City
8 of 12If the Chiefs keep on playing the way that they are right now and the Bears don’t take a big turn for the worse, they should be able to win this game. The Chiefs are suffering on both sides of the ball, and after a playoff run last season, they are not looking as good as they did last year.
Look for Chicago to win this game and continue their march towards the playoffs.
Prediction:
Chicago 28 Kansas City 10
Record: 8-4
Dec. 11th: At Denver
9 of 12The Broncos were expected to have a down season this year, and so far, they are right on track with that. Chicago will face the Broncos for the first time (not counting the preseason) since the Jay Cutler trade (which sent Cutler to Chicago and former Chicago Bears quarterback Kyle Orton to Denver). That will make this an interesting game.
The Bears will once again win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Prediction:
Chicago 26 Denver 10
Record: 9-4
Dec. 18: Vs. Seattle
10 of 12Last year’s divisional championship game will be relived as the Seahawks will come back to where they lost last year to take on the Bears. The Seahawks are having a rough go of it this season and may be ripe for the picking in this game. Will the Bears relive their same success against the Seahawks this year like they did in last year’s playoffs?
It’s likely that they will beat the Seahawks and could be in position to make the playoffs at this point of the season.
Prediction:
Chicago 30 Seattle 20
Record: 10-4
Dec. 25th: At Green Bay
11 of 12Christmas Day will see the Bears head up north to Green Bay to take on their hated division rival, the Green Bay Packers. If there are playoff implications for both teams, then this could be a very good game, but these are always great games.
The Bears won’t be able to handle what the Packers have once again in this game and will lose their second game against the Packers.
Prediction:
Green Bay 28 Chicago 21
Record: 10-5
Jan. 1: At Minnesota
12 of 12The Bears will wrap up the season against division rival Minnesota. The Vikings have started out the year on a low note and the Bears will hope that they can end the Vikings season the same way that it began. But can they?
If the Bears are in playoff contention you can expect them to play hard in this game. But the Vikings should still be weak enough for the Bears to come out with a victory here.
Prediction:
Chicago 21 Minnesota 13
Record: 11-5
