Jets vs. Patriots: Mark Sanchez Has the Potential to Be a Patriots Killer
Mark Sanchez a New England Patriots-killer? You bet.
Over the course of Sanchez's three year career, two of his three best games—in terms of quarterback rating—came against the New England Patriots, with one of them on the road at Gillette Stadium.
Sanchez's greatest game came against the Cincinnati Bengals back in January of 2010, when he posted a 139.4 quarterback rating but his second and third best games were against the Patriots. His second best was a stellar 127.3 quarterback rating with three touchdowns thrown on January 16 of this year in the playoffs at Gillette Stadium. His third best was back in September of 2010 when he posted a 124.3 quarterback rating while tossing three touchdowns.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As two of Sanchez's top three games were against the Patriots, he still enters Gillette Stadium with some pretty horrendous statistics.
In terms of regular season games, Sanchez has completed only 46.3 percent of his passes in New England while accumulating 300 yards and throwing one touchdown and being intercepted a putrid seven times.
The argument can go either way: Is Sanchez a Patriots-killer or not? Let's put it this way, he certainly has the potential and ability to rip the heart out of all die-hard New Englanders.
The lone game where Sanchez actually succeeded against Bill Belichick's defense was last year's playoff debacle, the game where he recorded a 127.3 quarterback rating. As Sanchez shredded New England's secondary, New York's ground-game flourished. Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson combined for 119 total rushing yards, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.
So what can we take from this? For starters, Sanchez is the ultimate "Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde."
If Sanchez is efficient, then the Jets could steal a victory away from the Patriots this Sunday. However, Sanchez's playoff dominance from last season was his lone positive game at Gillette Stadium—it's a 66 percent chance that he'll show up as Mr. Hyde.
Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde? Who will be playing quarterback for the Jets this Sunday afternoon?
